Demonstration projects China

There are several initiatives for the development and demonstration of CCS worldwide. For instance, the European Union has an ambition to deploy 10-12 full-scale CCS demonstration projects within Europe by 2015, testing various ways of integrating CCS in coal and gas-fired power generation it also aims for CCS to be commercially viable for all new fossil fuel power plants by 2020, with existing plants progressively retrofitted (EC, 2007). Other pilot and demonstration plants are planned in the United States, Australia and China.5... 

A Demonstration Project for Biomass Gasification and Power Generation in China... 

Base on the cunent price of biomass wastes in China, the electricity production cost in this project is around 0.2 Y RMB/kW.h. The economic return from this demonstration project will reach about 2.4 million Y RMB/year, and all capital investment may be paid back in about 3 years.

Techniques to counter the heavy metal coolant disadvantages are being developed, but in spite of this work and the apparent disadvantages of sodium, the consensus in favour of sodium remains strong. Delayed almost 20 months, it is still waiting to win the approval of the State Planning Commission for the Chinese Experimental Fast Reactor (CEFR) project. Some meetings to demonstrate the necessity to execute now the program of the CEFR design and construction have been conducted in China. Fortunately the possitive conclusion has been obtained, which would be an important promotion to win the approval.
