Daily values

Information about a food s potassium content is required on the nutrition facts panel only if the food contains added potassium as a nutrient or if claims about it as a nutrient appear on the label. In all other cases, it is voluntary. The recommended daily value for potassium is 3500 mg. The following labels have been designated for foods high potassium (700 mg or more per serving) good source of potassium (350—665 mg per serving) more or added potassium (at least 350 mg more per serving than the reference food) (43). [Pg.536]

Smoke concentrations ranged from 0.3 to more than 4 mg m . Daily means of the sampling stations are shown in Fig. 18-4. Sulfur dioxide measurements ranged from less than 0.1 ppm (260 /rg m ) to 1.34 ppm (3484 /Ag m" ). Also, 4 of the 11 stahons had at least one daily value in excess of 1 ppm, and 9 of the 11 stations had at least one daily value in excess... [Pg.280]

UNSAT-H simulates plant transpiration with a PET concept. The model partitions plants removal of soil-water between soil layers based on (1) distribution of plant roots within the soil profile for cheatgrass (an invading and weedy grass species found in dry regions of Washington State) or (2) the user may supply other functions. The user must enter soil-water parameters that describe the limits for plant extraction of water from each layer of soil. The model also uses the same daily value pattern for the LAI for each year. [Pg.1077]

Fig. 5 The current River Rhone temperature regime (grey, black) as a result of damming (and partly climate change) compared with daily data (red, blue) from one century ago (1886 and 1904/5). The data has been collected at Porte du Scex by [19], by [18] and by [16] for 1886 (blue), 1904/5 (red), and in the last decades (grey, black), respectively. The red dots are daily values (afternoon). The black bars represent minima and maxima for the period 1982-2002. The hydropower operation has a smoothing effect on the temperature below the outlets in the River Rhone In winter, the current temperature is about 2°C above natural (warming from prewarmed reservoirs) and in summer about 1 °C cooler (less riverbed friction electricity production). The annual average remains almost constant. Details in [10]... Daily values of the 7 A.M. mixing height (MIXHT) and wind speed (WDSPD) aloft at Fort Totten, N.Y. were obtained from the National Weather Service. Weekly averages were computed for use in the statistical analysis. [Pg.199]

Weekly values of average temperature (AVETEMP) and of heating (HEATDD) and cooling (COOLDD) degree days were calculated from the daily values measured in Central Park (in Manhattan) obtained from the National Weather Service. [Pg.199]

This methodology was a first approach to estimate population exposure, calculated as the total daily values above the thresholds recommended by the European Commission Directive for long- and short-term health effects. Obtained results revealed that in Lisbon city centre a large number of persons are exposed to PM levels exceeding the legislated daily limit value of 50 pg m 3. [Pg.268]

Johnston (119) recently measured the absorption spectrum for HNO in the ultraviolet and found that R34 proceeds with unit quantum efficiency. His absorption measurements are significantly less than the earlier measurements of Dalmon (44) for X > 2900 A, with the result that J34 is reduced considerably from previous estimates [Leighton (149)]. The altitude profile for J34 is given in Table VII, and the average daily values... [Pg.438]

The resulting n(OH) profiles, calculated for summer and winter latitudes of 30°N with a zenith angle of 60°, were in harmony with the tropospheric calculations of Levy (154), where average daily values for n(0H) were determined explicitly by averaging steady-state values of n (OH) calculated at 1-hr intervals. [Pg.480]
