Cross breeding

AAore accurately worded, the title of this paper should read Some Poorly Understood Aspects of Stability in Certain Commercial Emulsions/ Its objective is to present some empirical data relative to certain commercial emulsions. It is assumed that the specialist in any given field is already familiar with most, if not all, of the data herein reported pertaining to the emulsion in his particular field. The data are presented for consideration by the specialist in a given field who is insufficiently familiar with the problems in another, apparently unrelated, specialized field with the hope that such cross breeding may be provocative of fresh thinking and new approaches. Moreover, no attempt is made herein to generalize or to construct hypotheses.

Wines. Two different wines vitis vinifera L. cv. Scheurebe from the Pfalz area in Germany were analyzed. Scheurebe is a cross breeding of the two cultivars Riesling and Silvaner. Based on genetic studies (cross-breeding) with Portulaca grandma, Trezzini and Zryd (1990) postulated that only three loci are responsible for betalain biosynthesis. While two loci control the bios)mthesis of q/do-Dopa and betalamic acid, the third controls the transport of betalamic acid into the vacuole. At the same time, such cross-breeding experiments enable the grower to determine whether mushrooms from different locations belong to the same species. Using this method, I was able to establish that mycelia obtained from Psilocybe bohemica and from Psilocybe cyanescens (collected in the U.S.) can never be fused together, which means that these two mushrooms are not of the same species. 

Citrus fruits are among the most important fruit crops. Due to the high cross breeding activities of agricultural biologists, a clear identification back to the original species is very difficult or almost impossible. 

The number of cows represented in each bulk milk sample, location, altitude and breed reared for each farm are reported in Table 1. Bulk milk samples were collected at each farm. A total of 618 samples from four farms (twice from each 78 Jersey 125 Holstein 59 Holstein and 47 cross breeds, respectively) were collected according to the Colorado Public Health and Environment milk sampling and testing manual 2000 and the International Dairy Federation (IDF) standard methods of sampling for bulk milk (tankers, silos, etc.). As recommended in these manuals, in the case of small retail samples, the whole container represents the sample, but must not be less than 100 ml. The sample characteristics of cows whole milk are described in Table 1.
