Credentialing organizations

APhA has several affiliate organizations, and through the work of its Foundation and credentialing organizations, the Association has made a major commitment to research, quality measurement, and accountability. The APhA Foundation has sponsored and directed several significant research and demonstration projects to contribute to the body of evidence that pharmacists services enhance patient health-seeking behavior and improve outcomes. Research on quality measurement and the development of tools to reduce medication use problems and errors is a priority of the Foundation. 

Use expert opinions to support your ideas. Experience and prestigious reputations usually mean greater credibility. So when you quote experts or use statistics, tell your reader briefly where you got the information. Use titles and full names of experts and their affiliations. When possible, include a brief description of who the person is or what the organization is. The telling, in itself, lets your reader know that you have paid attention to the credentials of your sources and lends credibility to you. And don t forget to tell your reader about your own expertise on a topic. 

Some trade organizations and technical societies were invited to submit nominees for membership in WRISE and 20 individuals have been selected as initial Institute members. All possess credentials of accomplishment in pollution prevention, show evidence of a continuing interest in environmental protection and are, or have been, responsible for plant management or process design/selection or are highly knowledgeable of industrial operations for which waste reduction techniques are applicable.

As discussed earlier, the future of journals is clearly electronic. However, there are many reasons why journal articles are problematic in comparison to other documents such as web pages and databases. First, most chemistry journals (with the notable exception of Chemistry Central Journal, www.journal.chemistrycentral. com) are not open access, and thus the content of articles is restricted by the publishers. Although most universities and large organizations have institutional subscriptions to the popular journals, access usually requires validation on computer IP addresses or the use of private login credentials. Thus, automated access to this information by a computer is difficult. Further, it is unclear whether the terms under which journal articles are made available permit automated processing of the content...

Credentialing (1) The process by which an organization or institution obtains, verifies, and assesses a pharmacist s qualifications to provide patient care services. (2) The process of granting a credential (a designation that indicates qualifications in a subject or an area). 

Privileging The process by which a health care organization, having reviewed an individual health care provider s credentials and performance and found them satisfactory, authorizes the individual to perform a specific scope of patient care services within the organization. 

Pharmacists patient care management and education services provided to specific types of patients often require similar postgraduate training, experience, and expertise as those required of other health professionals. Several nafional specialty organizations have developed criteria for mulfiple healfh care disciplines, including pharmacy, to become credentialed.

Author credentials Do you recognize the author and/or the organization from which they originate If you do not, it is worth doing a search on a relevant quality indexing and abstracting service to discover if they have published on the same topic in a reputable journal. 

The selection of members is made only after a careful consideration of the scientific credentials of the various candidates. Individuals participate as independent scientific experts, and do not represent any country or organization. A balance of scientific expertise and other experience is considered essential. FAO and WHO meet the costs of experts attendance at JECFA and JMPR meetings. 

In the United States there are several regulatory, private accreditation, state, and federal organizations that may conduct a safety inspection of the laboratory. Some of these safety inspections may occur unannounced. From an external perspective, OSHA inspectors have the authority to enter a cfinical laboratory unannounced and, on presentation of credentials, inspect it.
