Some crucial steps in the biology of CVD have demonstrated sensitivity to estrogen agonists. Some of these actions have shown to be mediated by the classical pathway of estrogen receptors (ERs), though in other cases the involved mechanisms seem more complex and require the consideration of alternative options (Mendelsohn 2002). The available evidence concentrates on actions on lipids or on direct actions on the vascular wall. 

Some authors believe that neuropathic effects of vincristine are greatly exacerbated in patients with underlying neuropathy, such as in those with Marie-Charcot syndrome. This is based on experience with one patient who developed bulbar paralysis following vincristine injection. Some authors believe this reaction to have been idiosyncratic and report successful treatment of patients with underlying neuropathies with vincristine without untoward effects. At the least, extreme caution and careful consideration of alternate therapies seems reasonable in such patients (31,32). In either case, the neurologic symptoms are so common they should not limit the use of this agent, which in early studies was well tolerated at a weekly dose of 3.5 mg.

Following calculation and consideration of alternative pumps (see Appendix I), the final pump specification is presented in Table 11.2. Consideration of Alternative Assumptions. Two aspects of the example analysis for electric arc furnace waste warrant further consideration. The first is the assumption that an acceptable dose of each chemical that induces deterministic effects is 10 times its RfD. The second is the assumption that exposures would occur only once over a lifetime and for a period of 1,000 h. 

Although specific macromolecules have evolved to provide these functions in life on Earth, it is possible that some or all of these functions might be provided by monomers or by different macromolecules in other forms of life. However, all things are not possible, as the physicochemical characteristics of macromolecules conferred by their molecular structures inherently limit their functional properties. Consideration of alternative macromolecules to serve these functions must be realistic in terms of structure-function relationships of particular macromolecules.

Hazards should be considered and eliminated in the process development stage where possible. The basic elements of any lEE are therefore directly established by PEPAT. This is a relevant difference in comparison with Recommendation XIV-2, which did not lay down any specific procedural duty.
