Concession meaning

The European Commission has bowed to government and industry pressure, and made a series of amendments to water down its proposed European Union chemical policy. Proposals to test polymers under the policy s Reach programme have been all but scrapped, and the number of intermediates requiring testing has been drastically reduced. The concessions mean that the number of chemicals to be tested under Reach has fallen from about 30,000 to about 10,000. Some polymers may have to be registered under the revised version of Reach, but only after a review of the risks they pose, and taking into account the impact on competitiveness, innovation and protection of human health and the environment. The second chapter introduces the student to orbitals proper and offers a simplified rationalization for why orbital interaction theory may be expected to work. It does so by means of a qualitative discussion of Hartree-Fock theory. A detailed derivation of Hartree-Fock theory making only the simplifying concession that all wave functions are real is provided in Appendix A. The sensitivity of chemical shift tensors to symmetry is a powerful means of probing molecular structure and temperature-dependent molecular dynamics. Multiple orders of spinning sidebands may offend those who seek solution-like NMR spectra of solids, but discarding most of the information inherent in the chemical shift is a considerable concession to aesthetics. 

You ll notice that the previous announcement informs commuters that none of these factors on their own would have caused the long-term closure of the concession. This means that each of these causes is a contributing cause. A contributing cause helps make something happen but can t make that thing happen by itself It is only one factor that contributes to the cause.

We have emphasized that the modelling and the associated rock mass characterization should be determined by the rock engineering objective. I must add> however, that there are subsequent passages in which Campbell seems to disown the thesis I have just attributed to him. On p. 119, he acknowledges that a jaundiced eye may make the character of ones experience different from that of a normal observer viewing the same scene. On p. 126, he says that it is undeniable that two people could be seeing the very same object, and yet the intrinsic character of their experiences be quite different. I am at something of a loss how to understand CampbeU s overall view in the light of these concessions. Perhaps his language of constituted by means only that sameness of object is necessary, but not sufficient, for sameness of experience. 

In terms of the five supply chain levels being considered, the first two are a time during which those in procurement seeking improvement leverage volume for price concessions. The supply base is reduced and volumes are awarded to fewer suppliers for better prices. Attention is also given to better order management procedures and the means to reduce transportation costs. 

The concessionary model of development is by no means uniquely Chinese, not even in its state-supported form. But there is an assertiveness and enthusiasm to the promotion of concessions as engines of modernization for the countries they are established in (but whose jurisdiction they are partly removed from) that is peculiar to Chinese projects, perhaps, as we have suggested above, for historical reasons.
