Compliance records

The Abbreviated Inspection Option is a surveillance or compliance inspection. It is a shortened inspection. This is performed when the facility has a satisfactory cGMP compliance record and there are no product problems or there has been little change since the last inspection. At least two systems are audited, including the quality system.

To develop the detailed release inventory, a study team reviewed results from the refinery s monthly mass balance calculation (inputs minus outputs), studied records maintained for compliance with state and federal laws, and undertook a massive sampling program. Mass balance calculations indicated that the refinery had releases of 8400 tons per year. In contrast, compliance records—which cover only those emissions regulated by state or federal law—documented smaller quantities. In addition, emissions of substances covered by the federal Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) were reported to be 371 tons in 1989—or 23 times less than the emissions indicated by the mass balance calculation. 

Measurable indicators of sustainability reputation include a company s regulatory compliance record, third-party recognition and awards, participation in environmental/sustainability consortia, and extent of community development and philanthropic support. 

Downside reports the CER includes reports on Ashland s compliance record and the number of non-contained releases, and a yes score has been awarded since the general tone is one of a report in which the downside is being reported. 

A seller needs to keep documents after the Closing to address any liabilities it may retain.
