Company training sessions

Many companies use worker—management teams, suggestion boxes, consultant surveys, suppHer training sessions, and other methods to reduce risk of injuries (see Hazard analysis and risk assessment). The principal regulatory burden falls on wastes and discharges which leave the plant (3,53,54). 

If a toller has a contract to perform the same toll repeatedly, but on an infrequent basis, training should not be overlooked in preparation for restarting the repetitive toll. It is a good practice to provide refresher-training sessions to assure that the personnel have received current training. One company has picked a six-month period between campaigns as the indicator that the operations team needs refresher training. 

As you will remember from our conclusions in Chapter 3, virtually all companies that contributed case studies to our book incorporated expectation management into their training sessions. If you want to ensure that your program nms as planned, then keeping with this tradition is of great importance. It is also vital to have sufficient time in the training program for this issue. 

Pharmaceutical companies may not, with respect to these training sessions/meetings, offer to pay compensation for participation or for expenses in connection with these, if agreements have not been made with the healthcare principal in each individual case. Nor may participants request such compensation, other than to the degree that the participant s principal has granted permission in each individual case.

It is apparent from these statistics that the resource intensive nature of this program puts it outside the reach of most small companies and individuals.
