Suggestion box

Many companies use worker—management teams, suggestion boxes, consultant surveys, suppHer training sessions, and other methods to reduce risk of injuries (see Hazard analysis and risk assessment). The principal regulatory burden falls on wastes and discharges which leave the plant (3,53,54). 

Provide suggestion boxes for good housekeeping measures.

Some companies utilize the suggestion box or idea box that allows employees to write down their ideas and submit them to management on an individual and confidential basis. This type of communication mechanism has been extremely successful for many companies however, the suggestion box can become stale and sit unused if appropriate feedback from management is not provided. 

It is an interesting concept to use the MOC process as a smooth operating welcoming suggestion box. 

Modes of indirect communication may involve safety and health suggestion boxes and electronic mail systems. Unrestricted and functional communication systems can therefore significantly contribnte to the promotion of greater anployee input, feedback, and education about worksite mechanisms, policies and procedures, and employee safety and health protection by incorporating a flow of information aimed at correcting hazards and identifying the concerns of everyone. 

A good employee safety suggestion box can 3deld many leads to hazards that might otherwise go unnoticed. In addition, a periodic stuvey of employees can reveal much about hazards as well as morale. (Note See the Toolbox section of this manual for a sample safety suggestion form and sample safety survey questions.)...

A switched function extends over the range of inner (Ron) to outer (Roff) radius and a shifted function from zero to outer (Roff) radius. Beyond the outer radius, HyperChem does not calculate non-bonded interactions. The suggested outer radius is approximately 14 Angstroms or, in the case of periodic boundary conditions, less than half the smallest box dimension.
