Collector drum

The steam/air mixture from drywells entering in upper collector drum of PCC unit is not condensed in the tube bundle without definition of fluid parts with zero initial water mass in all PCC zones. 

The oil separators located in the water treatment unit are equipped with oil collector drums. However, since there are no devices to scrape the bottoms, the sludge must periodically be removed. It may be centrifuged before it is disposed of outside the refinery. The flows to be treated collect in a 20,000 m tank kept only 50% full so it can serve as a surge tank. Then they are redistributed to purification at an average flow rate of 600 to 650... 

Collect oils with 5 to 10% humidity with oil collector drums rather chan with adjustable troughs. 

A similar technique was used by Min et al. (2004d) to electrospin copolymers of lactide with glycolide (PLGA) nanofibers from hexafluoroisopropa-nol (HFP) solvent from one capillary tip and regenerated chitin in formic acid electrosprayed from a separate tip, onto the same grounded collector drum. In this case, however, both electrospinning solutions carried a positive charge.

Hazardous Wastes Hazardous Wastes for deliveiy to a treatment or disposal facility normally are collected by the waste producer or a licensed, speciahzed hauler. Typically, the loading of collection vehicles is completed in one of two ways (1) wastes stored in large-capacity tanks are either drained or pumped into collection vehicles, and (2) wastes stored in sealed drums or other sealed containers are loaded by hand or by mechanical equipment onto flatbed trucks. To avoid accidents and possible loss of life, two collectors shoiild always be assigned when hazardous wastes are to be collected.

Primary steam separators These devices are located horizontally, immediately above the top drum waterline and use baffles or chevrons and dry pipe collectors, or cyclone or centrifugal action to radically change the steam flow, resulting in the heavier water and contaminants separating out from the steam. 

Drying and cooling the products of ammonium phosphate production are conventionally achieved in a rotary drum, and a means must be provided to remove the dust particles from the air streams to be exhausted to the atmosphere. At the Minnesota plant, a high-efficiency dry cyclone recovery system followed by a wet scrubber was designed. In this way, material recovered from the dry collector (and recycled to the process) pays for the dry system and minimizes the load and disposal problem in the wet scrubber, because it eliminates the need for a system to recover the wet waste material that is discharged to the gypsum disposal pond for settling. 

In order to define the extent of emissions from automotive brakes and clutches, a study was carried out in which specially designed wear debris collectors were built for the drum brake, the disk brake, and the clutch of a popular U.S. vehicle (1). The vehicle was driven through various test cycles to determine the extent and type of brake emissions generated under all driving conditions. Typical original equipment and aftermarket friction materials were evaluated. Brake relines were made to simulate consumer practices. The wear debris was analyzed by a combination of optical and electron microscopy to ascertain the asbestos content and its particle size distribution. It was found that more than 99.7% of the asbestos was converted to a nonfibrous form and...

The coal is crushed in a hammer mill, dried, and then screened to —16 + 80 mesh. About 500 lb. of coal are charged to a hopper, which is connected at the bottom to the pretreater by a screw feeder. The feed enters the pretreater about 6 inches above the distributor plate. Feed rates of up to 100 lb./hr. can be attained. A 3-in. diameter overflow pipe controls the bed height. The overflow collects in a receiver and is periodically dumped into drums. Fines from the bed were originally returned to the bed by an internal cyclone with a dipleg sealed in the bed, but tar tended to build up in the cyclone and caused the reactor pressure to increase. At present, a heated external cyclone with a collector pot is installed and operates much more smoothly. 

A feedwater collector is located at the bottom of each drum separator. From these, the water which has been separated from the steam-water mixture is mixed with feedwater and is taken via the twelve 312 mm downcomers to a 1020 mm pump inlet header.
