Co-precipitation process

Shizuo [100] allowed the silver halide precipitate obtained in the co-precipitation process to stand in contact with the solution for more than 20 h to ensure quantitative collection of iodide on the precipitate. He then evaporated the oxidised iodate solution to 5-10 ml and again allowed the solution to stand for more than 12 h before the colorimetric determination. There was no interference from bromine compounds. The errors were then within 3%. [Pg.82]

Principle of Separation. Thorium co-precipitates with NdF3 while U02+ remains in solution. Filter paper with the neodymium fluoride precipitate and associated thorium is mounted on a planchet and counted for alpha and beta particles. The presence of alpha particles in the NdF3 precipitate indicates the amount of uranium that accompanies the precipitate unless 230Th is present. The ratio of the beta-particle count rate in the precipitate to the count rate in the initial sample of uranium with 234Th and 234mPa indicates the fractional yield of the co-precipitation process. [Pg.53]

Figure 3 shows the TG-DTA curves of the dried precipitate precursor obtained from ammonia co-precipitation processing. It was observed at the TG curve that there are three stages of weight loss in the temperature ranges from 90 to 250 T, from 250 to 380 T and 400 to 620 T. Respectively, these three stages can be corresponded to three relevant endothermic peaks at 112, 308, and 530 T in DTA curve. The mass loss in total 3 steps was about 38%. It can be seen that... [Pg.555]

It has been shown that the predominate state of the selenium in these SSW streams is as the selenocyanate (SeChT) [1]. The selenocyanate in SSW is oxidized by refinery biotreaters to selenite (SeOs ), which can then be removed via an iron based treatment process. One of the most effective of these iron-based processes is iron co-precipitation process. However, the selenium can also occur as selenate (Se04 )> which is not removed during the iron coprecipitation process [2]. In order to design effective treatment protocols to remove the selenium, more than just the concentration of the metal must be determined. Without knowledge of the types of selenium species present in the water, design of an effective removal treatment protocol... [Pg.42]

The feasibility studies on single capsule detection of urea presence were carried out using confocal fluorescent microscopy. CLSM image of SNARF-1 dextran/urease capsules in absence and at O.IM urea added to the same capsules are presented on Figure 8. Small distinctions in the form and the sizes of capsule population are connected with non-uniformity of SNARF-1 dextran/urease CaCO particles received in co-precipitation process what is rather often observed for calcium carbonate templated capsules containing proteins [20]. [Pg.127]

The performance of the 2-stage co-precipitation process can be further evaluated with the data shown in Figures 1 and 2 corresponding to the test with Fe(II)/As(V)=4 (CD2). Figure 1 shows the concentration profQes for Fe(II) and As(V). Figure 2 displays the Eh and pH profiles during co-precipitation. The reactors reached steady-state after 6.5 hours. It is only after that point that slurry was collected for stability testing. [Pg.373]

Magnetite particles of mean diameter 10 nm were obtained in a co-precipitation process [107] by quickly adding a concentrated ammonium solution to a solution of Fe +/Fe + with a molar ratio of 3 2 which allows the compensation of the oxidation of some iron II to iron III during the co-precipitation in an open vessel. [Pg.55]

In order to enhance the osteoconductive property of the developed PCL/silanized tricalcium phosphate scaffolds, a carbonated hydroxyapatite-gelatin composite has been coated onto the scaffolds using a biomimetic co-precipitation process, which has been characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and XPS. Confocal laser microscopy and SEM images revealed a most uniform distribution of porcine bone marrow stromal cells and cell-sheet accumulation on the carbonated hydroxyapatite-gelatin composite coated PCL/silanized tricalcium phosphate scaffolds (4). [Pg.147]
