In UltraSIM/UlSim the ultrasonic sound propagation from a virtual ultrasonic transducer can be simulated in ray tracing mode in any isotropic and homogeneous 3D geometry, including possible mode conversions phenomenons, etc. The CAD geometry for the simulation is a 3D NURBS surface model of the test object. The rapid increase in computer applications is partly attributable to both the decreasing costs of hardware and software and to the increasing costs of human labor. If subdivision curves are to be used within, for example, a CAD system, then it is necessary not just to draw them, but to determine points on them fairly accurately for purposes of, for example, finite element meshing. [Pg.173]
