Benzine

Benzine is a product of petroleum (boiling between 49 and 66°C) and is composed of aliphatic hydrocarbons. [Pg.80]

Benzine should not be confused with benzene, which is a single chemical compound and an aromatic hydrocarbon. [Pg.80]

G. Duembgen and co-workers, "Untersuchungen zur Acetylen-HersteUung durch Methanund Leicht-benzin-Spaltung," Chem. Ing. Techno/. 40, 1004 (1968). [Pg.396]

Benzene is the simplest and most important member of the aromatic hydrocarbons and should not be confused with benzine, a low boiling petroleum fraction composed chiefly of aUphatic hydrocarbons. The term benzole, which denotes commercial products that are largely benzene, is not common in the United States, but is stiU used in Europe. [Pg.37]
