The basic function of the JME Editor is to allow the creation and modification of molecules and reactions directly within a web page. Catalysts and Promoters. The function of catalysts in LPO is not weU understood. Functionalization. Copolymers do not have the abiHty to exchange ions. There does not appear to be a continuous functionalization process on a commercial scale. 

Carrier. The metal catalyst is generally dispersed on a high surface area carrier, ie, the carrier is given a washcoat of catalyst, such that very small (2—3 nm dia) precious metal crystaUites ate widely dispersed over the surface area, serving two basic functions. It maximizes the use of the cosdy precious metal, and provides a large surface area thereby increasing gas contact and associated catalytic reactions (18). 

The most successful and user-friendly approach, which is now adopted by virtually all commercial systems, is the fill-in-the-forms or table-driven process control languages (PCLs). The core of these languages is a number of basic functional blocks or software modules. AU modules are defined as database points. Using a module is analogous to calhng a subroutine in conventional programs.

The basic function of lysis processes is to split molecules to permit further treatment. Hydrolysis is a chemical reaction in which water reacts with another substance. In the reaction, the water molecule is ionized while the other compound is split into ionic groups. Photolysis, another lysis process, breaks chemical bonds by irradiating a chemical with ultraviolet light. Catalysis uses a catalyst to achieve bond cleavage. 

A new solid phase method to synthesize libraries of compounds based on 1,2,5-thiadiazolidine heterocycle was developed (00TL(41)3161). Starting from the coupling of the protected aminoacid to the resine functionalized with p-alkoxybenzylalcohol as the linker, a series of sulfahydantoins 251 could be obtained. The method is applicable to aminoacids with a basic side chain, aliphatic aldehydes or aldehydes with basic functionalities. 

Considering functional group complementarity, other commodity monomers may also be used. Thus for templates containing acid groups, basic functional monomers are preferably chosen. The brush-type (Pirkle-type) CSPs have been used predominantly under normal phase conditions in LC. The chiral selector typically incorporates tt-acidic and/or n-basic functionality, and the chiral interactions between the analyte and the CSP include dipole-dipole interactions, n-n interactions, hydrogen bonding, and steric hindrance. The concept of reciprocity has been used to facilitate the rational design of chiral selectors having the desired selectivity [45].
