Bag check

Broken glassware and paper towels used to mop up chemicals should be segregated also by placing them in special containers or plastic bags. Check with your laboratory instructor for the proper guidelines that you are to follow. [Pg.3]

Determining the location of a leak after assembly may be difficult - particularly if there is a large number of leaks. To minimize leaks in the assembled system, all joints and subsystem components should be helium leak checked during assembly. An efficient way of finding leaks is to leak check the subassemblies, assemble and leak check the simple system, and then add other subassemblies. As a final leak check, the system can be covered with a plastic bag and the bag filled with helium (bag check) to determine the cumulative effect of all leaks. [Pg.95]

As a baseline for system behavior a new system should be bag checked to determine its total leak rate. For example, a good production system may have a total leak rate of 10 Torr-liters/sec as fabricated. [Pg.95]

Helium leak check of the system by bagging the whole system into one plastic bag (i.e. bag check). [Pg.134]

System not thoroughly helium leak-checked after assembly (not bag checked). [Pg.137]

Bag check (vacuum technology) Placing a vacuum system in a bag filled with helium to measure the total leak rate into the system. Also called the Hood test. [Pg.566]

That s when Gwyneth Paltrow walked in. Gwyneth Paltrow No. 1. A white blonde, she faced the bar, put her bag down on the pastel, serape-striped barstool, opened it, picked up her cell phone, flipped it open and flipped it shut like someone checking a gun clip. [Pg.84]

After all casualties and Force personnel are decontaminated, the site will either be torn down or converted to an equipment decontamination site. All items that cannot be decontaminated will be bagged and placed aside for future disposal. Starting at the dirty end of the site, all items to be decontaminated will be sprayed down with 5 percent HTH decontamination solution. Working from the dirty end towards the clean end, items will be passed down the line to the contamination control line (CCL) and be rinsed with clean water. Then, the item will be checked with detection equipment for contamination. If the equipment is clean, it will be passed across the CCL. [Pg.209]

When all equipment is removed from the decontamination site, the containment pits will be sprayed with decontamination solution, rinsed, and checked for contamination. All bag items meant for disposal will be picked up by another agency. Once the site has been... [Pg.209]

This completely automated spectrum analysis procedure represents the final element in our effort to reduce to routine practice the quantitative analysis of similarly constituted gaseous samples by FTIR. It has seen wide and successful application within our laboratory, having been the principle analytic method for two extensive hydrocarbon species-specific auto exhaust catalyst efficiency studies, a comprehensive study of the gases emitted by passive-restraint air bag inflators, several controlled furnace atmosphere analyses, several stationary source stack emission checks and several health-related ambient atmosphere checks. [Pg.171]

A B. stearothermophilus strip and 16 thermocouples will be inserted in bags that are placed in different positions in the chamber. The Fq value will be calculated based on the base temperature and recorded by the thermocouples inside the commodity. Thermocouples should be calibrated before performing the heat penetration study and the calibration should be checked again after completion of the study. [Pg.588]

Chemical. To check against the possibility of errors either in the sampling procedure or in the value taken for the total volume of gas passed through the arc, the total amount of acetylene produced was estimated by a wet chemical method. The total volume of gas collected in the Polythene bag was used for this analysis. Acetylene determination was made using potassium mercuric iodide, dissolved in potassium iodide, in the presence of sodium hydroxide. [Pg.648]

Check that the outlet tubing has its plugs in place before opening the bag Attach one end to the medium input tubing of the saline reservoir (i e, that with the Pasteur pipet tubing, the outlet of which is covered with aluminum foil)... [Pg.48]

The volume of antibody solution required depends on the size of the blot and the container in which the incubation will occur Incubation in heat-sealed plastic bags can significantly reduce the required volume, with a blot from a minigel (8.5 x 5 5 cm) needing only 5 mL of primary antibody solution when incubated in this way If you are unsure of what volume is required, then seal the membrane (or one of the same size) in a plastic bag with a volume of TST, and check that there is enough fluid to cover the membrane... [Pg.215]

Records are kept of when a sample was collected, the method of collection, who collected the sample, what the elapsed time was between harvest and freezing, the conditions under which it was stored, how it was shipped to the laboratory, and when it was shipped. When a sample arrives at the laboratory, the condition of the sample is checked and recorded. Then the information on the sample bag (sample number, application rate, preharvest interval, etc.) is compared to the trial information sheets which are submitted along with the samples. Any omissions or discrepancies are corrected at that time. If there is an omission or discrepancy that cannot be easily corrected by a telephone call from the sample processing laboratory to the field scientist, the study director is notified. The study director must make the decision about the validity of the sample and put a note in the data file explaining how the problem was corrected or that the problem could not be corrected and the trial is to be abandoned. If the trial is dropped, Quality Assurance is notified, the trial is deleted from the active Master Schedule, and an explanation is put in the study file. [Pg.103]
