Fat Content of Milk. Raw milk as well as many dairy products are routinely analyzed for their fat content. The Babcock test, or one of its modifications, has been a standard direct measure for many years and is being replaced by indirect means, particularly for production operations. The Babcock test employs a bottle with an extended and caHbrated neck, milk plus sulfuric acid [7664-93-9] to digest the protein, and a centrifuge to concentrate the fat into the caHbrated neck. ALWRs are expected to be deployed ia the United States and ia Asian counties. However, France will use improved versions of standard reactors, considering them to be amply safe and economical. The reactors were modified after the Three-Mile Island-2 (TMI-2) accident. The company Framatome that has built most of the reactors of France is associated with Babcock Wilcox ia the United States. In ECS s 1986 repowefing project Babcock and Wilcox (B W) constmcted a bubbling-bed section to ECS s existing 125 MWe pulverized-coal furnace to produce 31.3 t/h of lime, usiag cmshed coal as the source of heat to calciae limestone ia the fluidized bed. A portion of the lime is drawn from the bed as bottom ash and a portion is collected as fly ash. Both portions are transferred to a cement (qv) plant adjacent to the boiler.
