Articles of association

The project team drafted and signed a Memorandum of Association and Article of Association shown in Fig. 12.5-3 12.5-4 establishing a virtual company named Gryphon Technologies Limited. The purpose of this exercise is to teach the student the basic steps and legal aspect of forming a company. [Pg.365]

In November 1999, SHPA members voted in a new Constitution based upon revised Memorandum and Articles of Association, developed to incorporate changes in Corporation Law and to ensure that SHPA keeps abreast of professional, technology, and social changes. [Pg.851]

In 1999, in France, the Societe de Collecte et de Recyclage des Accumulateurs (SCRA) was founded with the objective to collect all types of portable rechargeable batteries. This program was rapidly extended to the collection of equipment in which batteries are incorporated. In 2000, the articles of association of the company were adapted to... [Pg.73]

The latest Annual Report and a copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Watt Committee on Energy may be obtained on application to the Secretary. [Pg.140]

All companies mnst have a written eonstitution, which consists of two documents the memorandum of assoeiation, which controls its external relations, and the articles of association, which state how its internal affairs are to be run. Separate from these documents and not formally part of the eompany s constitution, there may also be a shareholders agreement. We shall look at each of these documents in turn. [Pg.37]

Preparation and planning the business network. The first step in creating a business network is to understand why it is beneficial to form this association, what is its focus, who will be the members involved and what are their expectations. Statutes (articles of association) are necessary that define the members duties and rules and that formalize the relationship between the partners. It is important to clarify what the advantages of being a member of the network are and what efforts and costs are required. Then, the members have to understand the role of the network and define who will be on the management board of the business network to conduct all the business. The members then have to write an action plan for the network. They have to define the scope of the association s actions and estabhsh communication channels. [Pg.130]

Bringing a new, advanced-performance material into the marketplace as a profitable article of commerce presents many problems. However, I m reminded of a cartoon I have saved over the years that has two scientists in white lab coats looking at their test tubes, and one of them says, Remember, our job is to push science to the state of the art and make a buck in the process. So, my remarks will be directed to the problems associated with making a buck out of all this forefront research in materials science. [Pg.40]

In addition to the determination of molar mass distributions and various molar mass averages there are many experiments, requiring sometimes sophisticated data evaluation, that can be carried out with an analytical ultracentrifuge. Examples are the analysis of association, the analysis of heterogeneity, the observation of chemical reactions, and protein characterization, to mention only a few. A detailed discussion is beyond the scope of this article, but there is excellent literature available [77-79,81,87-89]... [Pg.237]

The salting-in effect may be used to increase the solubility of a drug substance through the formation of associated ion pairs, most commonly making use of anionic countering (hydrochloride being the most popular). Detailed reviews of pharmaceutical salts have been published, which contain extensive tables of anions and cations acceptable for pharmaceutical use [44,47]. These articles also describe useful processes for the selection of the most desirable salt... [Pg.343]

Increasingly, guidelines resulting from political decision process of the European Union influence national markets and global competition. In order to have an influence on behalf of the interests of the plastics industry, the Association of Plastics Producing Industries, (VKE), is reported to wish to intensify its communication with European political institutions. The VKE sees the discussion about the EU book on the environmental problems relating to PVC as particularly controversial, and does not consider that it takes important points of view sufficiently into account. The treatment of the PVC theme, is examined as an example of so-called europisation of the work of associations. (Article translated from Kunststoffe 91 (2001) 4, pp.26-27). [Pg.66]

This equation is an elaboration of the dual substituent-parameter (DSP) equation. Its development has been relatively recent, but Taft and Topsom, who have been closely associated with it, have already written a long review article151 involving the equation, and this article will probably acquire the status in respect of the PSP equation that the article of Ehrenson, Brownlee and Taft92 has in connection with the DSP equation. The name Poly Substituent-Parameter Equation was devised by the present author in a short... [Pg.522]

In his Elements of the Art of Assaying Metals, Johann Andreas Cramer pointed out the close association of bismuth with arsenic and cobalt. Every ore of Bismuth, said he, as is shewn by the chemical analysis, is reduced to the State of Ore by Arsenide For this goes out of it by Sublimation. You find m the same Ore that Kind of Earth that gives an azure Colour to Glasses, of which we have already spoken in the Article of Cobalt. Whence it is evident that the Ore of Bismuth may widiout Impropriety be called Cobalt of Bismuth The more, because you will find in any ore of Bismuth the same Principles as in Cobalt, only in a different Propoition (55). This close association of bismuth and cobalt m nature made it difficult for eaily chemists to distinguish between them (56). [Pg.109]

We wish to acknowledge with many thanks the cooperation of a number of associates who took part in our series of investigations on the helix-coil transition of polypeptides. In fact, this article is a summary of their endeavors. We are particularly indebted to Dr. T. Norisuye, who not only made valuable contributions, both theoretical and experimental, to our research project but also gave us a good many pertinent comments in the course of the preparation of this manuscript. Finally, we must record that we learned much about the statistical mechanics of polypeptides through personal contact with the late Dr. K. NagaL... [Pg.146]

Many data on trace elements in coal are included in the chapter. The emphasis is on the geochemistry of the trace elements, with discussions of the concentration levels of trace elements in coals, the organic (or inorganic) affinities of the trace elements, and the geochemical controls of associations of elements. This and the following significant review article are contained within a single volume. [Pg.27]

Vibrational optical activity (VOA) is a relatively new area of natural optical activity. It consists of the measurement of optical activity in the spectral regions associated with vibrational transitions in chiral molecules. There are two basic manifestations of VOA. The first is simply the extension of electronic circular dichroism (CD) into the infrared region where fundamental one-photon vibrational transitions are located. This form of VOA is referred to as vibrational circular dichroism (VCD). It was first measured as a property of individual molecules in 1974 [1], and was independently confirmed in 1975 [2]. Within the past twelve years, VCD has been reviewed on a number of occasions from a variety of perspectives [3-15], and two more reviews are currently in press [16,17], The second form of VOA has no direct analog in classical forms of optical activity. Optical activity in Raman scattering, known simply as Raman optical activity (ROA), was measured successfully for the first time in 1973 [18], and confirmed independently in 1975 [19], ROA has been described in detail and reviewed several times in the past decade from several points of view [20-24], and two additional reviews [25,26], one with a view toward biological applications [25] and the other from a theoretical perspective [26], are currently in press. In addition, two articles of a pedagogical nature are in press that have been written for a general audience, one on infrared CD [27] and the other on ROA [28],... [Pg.54]

A similar kind of association may be responsible for the mechanical properties of the polyimide discussed at the beginning of this article. Thus, the 10-second modulus shows only a gradual decrease over the temperature interval 30° to 450°C. rather than an abrupt decrease over a small temperature span, as is usually observed for linear amorphous polymers at temperatures near the glass transition (10). It was suggested that a small amount of crystallinity was responsible for this behavior, which is similar to the explanation advanced for the properties of BBB. Despite this indication of limited molecular mobility, the polyimide is reported to be ductile in elongation and thus again similar to BBB. [Pg.769]

Articles of historic and artistic value commonly have been preserved in museums and homes, but not without complications. One of these complications in particular is the attack of insects.
