Antioxidant cream

The main thrust of the treatment is daily oxidation. In the morning, an antioxidant cream with vitamin E should be applied, and in the evening another anti-oxidant cream Renutriv ACE Lipoic Complex . [Pg.17]

One Easy TCA peel per week for 4 weeks can restructure the skin and eliminate any abnormal sensitivity. In this indication, the cosmeceuticals that can be combined with it are restricted to Vit E Antioxidant cream in the morning and the more nourishing Renutriv ACE Lipoic Complex cream in the evening. [Pg.25]

Early photoaging treatment of rosacea on the cheeks with a radiofrequency device (Ellman) and four applications of Easy TCA (basic protocol). Daily care Vit E Antioxidant cream. [Pg.98]

Hydration Vit E Antioxidant cream (see Chapters 2 and 3) or a thin layer of sterile white Vaseline should be applied. [Pg.158]

Prevention of oxidation the patient can apply an antioxidant cream if the extent of the inflammatory reaction appears to make this necessary. [Pg.158]

Two cases of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation linked to the lack of post peel use of antityrosinase/antioxidant cream and sun protection. Treatment applied used Blending Bleaching cream and 2 Easy TCA peels without sandabrasion, using the base protocol . [Pg.161]

Scarring after anterior chemabrasion, resulting from an irregular abrasion and supposed poor follow-up. Treatment applied used topical and injected corticosteroids, antityrosinase and antioxidant cream, silicone sheet compression. [Pg.162]

Phototypes I to III hydrating and antioxidant cream, combined with effective sun protection. [Pg.181]

Unideep is a TCA peel to the papillary dermis. Adapted from Easy TCA technology, it consists of a peel solution and a post-peel mask. Thanks to the post-peel mask, the erythema following the peel does not last as long as the erythema after a peel with TCA-SAS to the same depth. The erythema following Unideep lasts around 5-8 days (Figure 37.12), and the only treatment that it requires is an application of antioxidant cream (e.g. Renutriv ACE Lipoic Complex ) and Vaseline (see Chapter 23). If there is persistent localized erythema, there might be a local complication, and treatment is necessary. Effective sun protection must be used. [Pg.322]

Normal erythema 7 days after Lip Eyelid around the mouth and chin. The whiteness comes from an application of antioxidant cream and the shine from Vaseline . The rest of the face has been treated with Unideep (TCA peel to the papillary dermis)... [Pg.324]

Effective sun protection is always indicated with erythema, as it tends to develop into hyperpigmentation after UV exposure. Antioxidant creams can limit the negative effects of free radicals and the damage they cause to the cells. Creams containing vitamins A, C and E and lipoic acid can be combined with an antioxidant cream. The Easy TCA post-peel mask provides effective protection against erythema. [Pg.325]

If an application of Only Touch is followed by prolonged, punctiform erythema, treatment consists in avoiding pulling off the small scabs, effective sun protection of the whole face and sun avoidance, applying a cortisone cream locally, applying an antioxidant cream and tyrosinase-inhibitors on the whole face and close monitoring. [Pg.332]

French researchers provided an alternative to the tartrazine synthetic colorant (E 102), valorizing a phloridzine oxidation product (POP) generated as a by-product of the cider industry. Phloridzine is a polyphenol specific to apples and shows good antioxidant capacity. When apples are pressed to yield juice, phloridzine, oxygen, and polyphenoloxidase enzyme combine to form POP. This brilliant yellow natural colorant with nuances dependent on pH level can be incorporated easily into water-based foods such as beverages (juices, syrups) and confectionery creams because it is stable during production processes. Details about the specific formulations of these colorants are presented in Section 5.1. [Pg.594]

This method is relatively easy to use for anhydrous systems, but not for emulsions, foods, or biological media where the presence of water is detrimental. The method has been applied for determining antioxidant activity of both individual natural polyphenols and vegetable extracts. Methods based on this one have been used to evaluate the peroxide value in walnuts (Wilson-Kakashita and others 1995), mango seeds (Joseph 1995), almonds (Uthman and others 1998), and coconut cream powder (Yusof and others 2007). [Pg.275]

Antioxidants are often used to reduce oxidation of active substances and excipients in creams. There most common types of oxidants have been recognized (24). Table 1 lists each class of antioxidants and the most common antioxidants used in pharmaceutical creams. [Pg.202]

Also on the positive side, severe heat treatment of cream improves the oxidative stability of butter produced therefrom due to the exposure of antioxidant sulphydryl groups. As discussed in section 9.2.2, lactones formed from hydroxyacids are major contributors to the desirable cooking quality of milk fats but contribute to off-flavours in other heated products, e.g. milk powders. [Pg.296]

The new protocols presented here deal with the direct evaluation of antioxidant global capacity applied to skin and dermo-cosmetic creams. The analyses are performed directly in the medium without pre-treatment of the samples. This allows a simple and noninvasive measurement without introducing any possible interference. Moreover, cyclic voltammetry provides results in quasi-real time, allowing the direct monitoring of reaction kinetics. [Pg.169]

A lot of dermo-cosmetic creams provide antioxidants to skin, in order to protect it from external aggressions. The choice of the active species, the determination of their concentration and the study of their possible interactions require the development of analytical techniques. Electrochemical studies dealing with the analysis of creams systematically involve modification of the sample by expensive operations dilution, extraction, filtration, heating, etc. [24,25]. These protocols do not allow the study of the overall interactions between the components. Moreover, the evaluation of the variation of the properties of the cream is difficult because of the low resolution time of the measurements. [Pg.170]

Fig. 8.5. Cyclic voltammograms performed at 50 mV s-1 with a 2 mm diameter platinum electrode in a commercial product (depilatory cream Klorane) and in two home-made formulas containing no antioxidant species (gel 1 and emulsion 1). Fig. 8.5. Cyclic voltammograms performed at 50 mV s-1 with a 2 mm diameter platinum electrode in a commercial product (depilatory cream Klorane) and in two home-made formulas containing no antioxidant species (gel 1 and emulsion 1).
Comparison of cyclic voltammograms recorded in home-made creams without antioxidant (gel 1, gel 2 and emulsion 1) and commercial creams containing antioxidants illustrated the close relationship between the important anodic response and the antioxidant properties of the product (Fig. 8.5). Other results presented in Table 9.2 in Procedure 9 confirmed this relationship. Moreover, current and charge densities increase in the presence of antioxidant(s), proportionally with the antioxidant concentration (see Procedure 9). The overall anodic charge density was chosen as the indicator to estimate the antioxidant global capacity of the creams. [Pg.173]
