The aim of this chapter is to discuss chemical reactivity and its application in the real world. Chemical reactivity is an established methodology within the realm of density functional theory (DFT). It is an activity index to propose intra- and intermolecular reactivities in materials using DFT within the domain of hard soft acid base (HS AB) principle. This chapter will address the key features of reactivity index, the definition, a short background followed by the aspects, which were developed within the reactivity domain. Finally, some examples mainly to design new materials related to key industrial issues using chemical reactivity index will be described. I wish to show that a simple theory can be state of the art to design new futuristic materials of interest to satisfy industrial needs.

Therefore, the efficiency of an activator depends on its acidity which decreases pulp pH, and its bonding ability with cations which forms soluble stable complexes with cations at the p5nite surface. In other words, a better activator should have a lower pATa value(stronger acidity) and a greater Ag value (stronger affinity). Adults - Take 9 mg once daily in the morning for up to 8 weeks. Swallow capsules whole do not chew or break. For recurring episodes of active Crohn disease, a repeat 8-week course of budesonide can be given. Following an 8-week course of treatment for active disease and once the patient s symptoms are controlled (Crohn Disease Activity Index less than 150), budesonide 6 mg is recommended once daily for maintenance of clinical remission for up to 3 months. If symptom control is still maintained at 3 months, an attempt to taper to complete cessation is recommended. NSAID-refractory-AS is defined when after treatment with at least 2 different NS AID over a period of at least 2 months, ASAS 20 is not obtained, and ESR, CRP, and the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI) score do not improve, or worsens versus baseline. Indications for therapy with SBC-5-IMNs are in NSAID-refractory AS with ESR > 40 mm and a Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI) > 4. Less than 5% of patients with NSAID-refractory AS in the community at large fulfill these conditions. Remission is defined when ESR and VAS have declined to <10 mm (men <5 mm) and the disease activity scores are <1 (scale 0-10). Remission with oral drugs is defined when remission is maintained with oral drugs for at least 2 years. Remission without drugs is defined when remission without drugs is sustained without relapse for at least 2 years.

Functionality Analysis. Solubility was determined on 1% (w/v) dispersion of protein in 0.2 M phosphate buffers at a pH of 3.0 to 8.0. After stirring for 0.5 hr, the dispersion was filtered (0.45 /xm. Millipore), and the filtrate was analyzed for protein by the BCA method (21). Emulsifying activity index (EAI), expressed as interfacial area/unit weight protein (mVg) / was assessed by the turbidometric method of Pearce and Kinsella (22). 

Emulsifying activity index (EAI) is a measure of the ability of protein to emulsify oil, which depends on solubility, size, charge, and surface activity of the protein molecules. The effect of proteolysis with pronase E on EAI of the modified protein was relatively insignificant (Figure 6) However, deamidation appeared to enhance EAI, especially at pH values more basic than the isoelectric point (pH 4.7).

Coonradt and coworkers (13) use an empirical hydrogenation activity index based on the aromatle-naphthene ratio In the hydrocracked product. This approach does not provide an Independent measure of catalytic properties. In the study of SLE patients, we and other authors have found that there is a correlation between SLE disease activity index (SLEDAI) and the production of IL-16 (L7) and IL-18 (W19).
