Visual testing piping system

Prior to initial operation, and after completion of the applicable examinations and repairs required by para. IP-10.5, each piping system shall be tested to ensure tightness. Visual observation shall be made of a hydrostatic leak test performed in accordance with ASME BPV Code Section V, Article 10 and para. IP-10.7, except as provided herein.

The overall arrangement of the experiment test system of gas and coal dust explosion is as follows, which includes body of pipe system, flow visualization system, data measuring system and gas distribution system. 

Visual inspection showed no evidence of corrosion of the pipe or damage to the liner integrity. This test verifies the suitability of using PIPE lining in SILVER II systems processing energetics and DMMP but not the reliability of the array of connections required when using this material in a full-scale plant. 

Periodic inspection and retesting of the whole system, including a visual examination, a thickness test of the wall of the vessel and pipes, and an examination of the welds and the surfaces under any thermal insulation, is recommended. Hydraulic retesting is accompanied by risk of corrosion and is, therefore, not favored. 

The material and structural integrity of the primary system shall be demonstrated and maintained as defined in the SAR. An ISI program consistent with that discussed in the Inspection and Testing Section (SER Section 14) shall be implemented before K-Reactor restart. The program shall include visual, volumetric, and surface inspections as defined in ASME Section XI to the extent practical for implementation at SRS. All components and associated piping through the first isolation valve shall be inspected prior to restart.
