Videotape recording

I interviewed them individually once again and later briefed them as a group, a day before the scheduled LSD study. Only then did we ask them to sign separate informed consents, one for the test itself and one for the videotape recording. Apparently undaunted by the rigors of their previous tests with BZ, they seemed eager to discover the effects of a different chemical agent. 

As in the human studies, CCK-4 and other peptides must be given to primates intravenously to compensate for the short half-life, but the behavioral stress of short-term administration would confound behavioral observations. The implantation of an indwelling venous catheter that is protected by a jacket and swivel assembly allows administration of peptide or placebo without handling or alerting the animals. Behavioral observations may be made both immediately and from videotape records habituation and daily observations minimize nonspecific behavioral effects. In our own studies, monkeys typically receive placebo, CCK-4, or an analogue intravenously every second or third day but are often videotaped every day.

Such delay lines are used in colour television sets to introduce a delay of approximately 64 /rs, the time taken for the electron beam to travel once across the screen. The delayed signal can be used to average out variations in the colour signal that occur during transmission and so improve picture quality. Similar delay lines are used in videotape recorders. 

In contrast, in a second study there were few differences in interactive behaviors between prenatally cocaine-exposed and non-exposed 12-month-old infants and their mothers (342). Videotapes recorded African-American infants and their mothers engaged in interactions (49 cocaine-exposed, 63 non-exposed). Children who were prenatally exposed to cocaine ignored their mother s departure during separation significantly more often than controls. Mothers who abused cocaine used more verbal behavior with their children than non-abusers. 

The AGTV is a capability the earlier AOSS II system did not have and will provide the ability to identify discharging vessels at night. It has a pulsed laser illuminator that will permit reading painted letters at night on the bow or stern of vessels and provide absolute identification for forensic purposes. This is possible because of an annotated videotape record that has a playback and freeze-frame capability to ensure the evidence is readable while the aircraft is still on scene. 

As each inspection proceeds the examiner observes the monitor screen on which the A and B scans and number inlays are displayed. After the complete scan all ultrasonic indications are reviewed from the videotape recordings, which can be replayed using slow motion or still frame. If necessary localised re-scanning can be carried out under manual control.

The leading edge of the pulse synchronizes horizontal line sweeps of the receiver and camera. In videotape recorders, this edge is used to identify electronically the start of the blanking interval. 

In the television receiver, the back porch interval provides picture blanking until the start of the active portion of the line. In some videotape recorders, the interval is used to re-establish the DC level of the signal after detection. 

Sodium polyacrylate was set on a slide glass of a microscope (Nikon, Microphoto-FX) connected to a videotape recorder (VTR), and distilled water or solutions were poured on the sodium polyacrylate from a hypodermic needle. The push-button switch on the remote reflectance probe was rewired into a foot-switch so that the analyst, whose gloved hands were inside the glovebox manipulating each sample, could initiate a scan most efficiently. Each scan was displayed in real time on the computer s monitor in log(l// ) mode (absorbance vs. wavelength). Some samples were scanned more than once, and absorbances were saved at 2 nm increments (700 data points) in the computer and on a floppy disk. About 20 plastic or rubber samples were analyzed each day. If this number seems low, know that for each sample other people were making written records, audio recordings, and multicamera videotape records for complete documentation of the procedure.
