Rapid Equilibrium Case. In the absence of significant amounts of product (i.e., initial rate conditions thus, [P] 0), the rate expression for the rapid equilibrium random Bi Uni mechanism is v = Uniax[A][B]/(i iai b + i b[A] + i a[B] + [A][B]) where is the dissociation constant for the EA complex, and T b are the dissociation constants for the EAB complex with regard to ligands A and B, respectively, and Umax = 9[Etotai] where kg is the forward unimolecular rate constant for the conversion of EAB to EP. Double-reciprocal plots (1/v v. 1/[A] at different constant concentrations of B and 1/v v. 1/[B] at different constant concentrations of A) will be intersecting lines. Slope and intercept replots will provide values for the kinetic parameters. 

A larger number of companies are active in the LEP area. DuPont s purchase of Uniax and its technology gave them the necessary intellectual property to marry with their expertise in plastic substrates. Their aim is to produce devices on thin flexible substrates such as nylon and PET etc. that, they believe, will bring a manufacturing cost advantage over low MW materials. It is collaborating with Phillips who has a production scale unit in Holland for small alphanumeric displays suitable for watches and mobile phones. 

This film was then heated above the glass transition temperatures of both polymers, uniax-ially stretched, and finally allowed to cool down to room temperature. The stretched film was finally dissolved in hot water to release the polystyrene spheroids. The aspect ratios of resultant spheroids could be conveniently tuned by adjusting the magnitude of elongation. 

The discussion on mica symmetry should have ended at that, but it was renewed by Biot, who alleged that optically uniaxal mica existed. Kobell in 1838 gave a rhombohedral crystallographic constant and Breithaupt in 1841, accepting this attribution, divided the micas into uniaxial rhombohedral (called astrites, from the Greek for "star") and biaxial ortho-rhombic (phengites, from the Greek for "shininess").
