Trim elements

However, trim elements also serve a functional purpose in that they help to absorb impact when the vehicle is involved in a collision and when the vehicle contacts flying gravel, road debris, roadway abutments or the Uke. Accordingly, plated metal on a trim element preferably must withstand impact without chipping, cracking, or delaminating. 

Conventionally, automotive trim elements have been manufactured from metals. From economic aspects, plateable plastics are an interesting alternative, because they reduce the vehicle weight and have a much greater design flexibility than metals. When parts are formed from plastic materials, a significant cost savings can be realized in comparison to metal parts.

The fe-ester derivatives of trithiophosphinic acids, RP(S)(SR )2, have also been studied and, similar to the metal and ammonium salts, show enhanced thermal stability compared to their parent acids. Trithiophosphonic acid Zj zA (tr im e t lr y 1 s i 1 y 1) esters have been synthesised from organo-/u.v(trim-ethylsilyl)phosphanes with elemental sulfur in toluene (Equation 40).53 These 6z,s(silyl esters) can be readily converted into the parent trithiophosphinic acid by a very slow, controlled reaction with water or methanol.53... 

Wheel trims, grilles, trap doors for gasoline (petrol) tanks, engine covers, clutch pedals, intake manifolds, headlight parabolas, spoilers, radiator tank fittings, door handles, window winders, interconnection boxes, decorative parts, air and water filter elements, airbag canisters... 

This polymer film composition can be extruded into a polymer film sheet laminated to or co-extruded with a thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet to make a thermoformable inner liner. The ther-moformable inner liner is thermoformed, trimmed, and nested in a spaced relationship within an outer wall element, after which a polymer foam is injected to the space between the inner liner and the outer wall element. 

The discovery of Cr began with a curious red lead found in Siberia. In 1797 itwas shown that the mineral contained not only lead but also another unknown element, which was isolated a year later. Today chromium is used in various steels - spring, nickel-chromium, and stainless, and in heat-resistant nickel-based alloys. My own generation of automobiles was adorned with chrome (chromium-plated) bumpers and fender and window trims - an excess that staggers the mind attuned to today s automobile manufacturing. 

We briefly mention the case where the number of points m is less than n, i.e., less than the number of elements in the symmetry group G with respect to which we measure symmetry. In this case, m should be a factor of n such that there exists a subgroup H of G with n/m elements. In this case, we duplicate each point trim times and fold/unfold the points with elements of a left coset of G with respect to H. Following the folding/unfolding method, the relocated points will align on symmetry elements of G (on a reflection plane or on a rotation axis for example). Further details of this case and proof can be found in Ref. 2. 

It s easier to flag any unneeded elements, or functions through trimming, thereby reducing cost and moving the system closer to an ideal innovation. 

The trimming questions are very important because they facilitate reducing the complexity of the system through elimination of unnecessary elements. This reduces system cost and improves value. 

By trimming certain elements of the real-estate transaction system, we can envision a cleaner, simpler, and less expensive system, depicted in Exhibit 13.4. Of course, this innovated system is stylized and simplified in reality, the Functional Analysis would be much more detailed, showing all aspects of the real estate transaction, not just the listing, negotiation, and other functions shown.
