Selar DuPont s trade name for its barrier plastic that is a modified nylon with a compatibilizer or binder applicable to other plastics, such as in gasoline PE fuel tanks, selecting process See design, optimized fabricating process type. [Pg.496]

Some materials that have achieved importance include EPDM/PP, NBR/PA, PU/PA, SEBS/PA, EPDM/PBT, and epichlorohydrin rubber/PA. Usually, these materials are made more processable through plasticizing oils. Holden (19%) provided trade names of selected compositions, emphasizing those based on hard polymer-elastomer combinations see Table 6.9. [Pg.710]

A gel that is commercially available has the trade name ELAMUS. It is made of a hydrogenated styrene-butadiene block copolymer that is synthesized by solution polymerization. It is swollen by a liquid plasticizer. To maintain shape, a crosslinked structure resembling that of human tissue is formed (see Fig. 4) [5]. The characteristics of this gel are that even if the same polymer main chain is used, various properties can be tailored by changing the low molecular weight material that swells the polymer. By selecting appropriate compatibility and miscibility to allow the polymer molecules to be mobile, gel properties can be tailored. [Pg.1377]

Plastics materials databases offer solutions to the problan of sorting through the maze of material data sheets with the help of a personal computer. However, except for CAMPUS, all the currently available materials databases do not provide material selection by uniform standards. AU databases are programmed to allow the user to search for a material by properties, generic name, trade mark, applications, and manufacturer. The majority include a comparative format for a side-by-side comparison of material properties from the same or different suppliers. One of the versions also provides scanned manufacturer data sheets and additional material and marketing information. [Pg.501]
