Surveillance operating rules

Army experiences as well as technological advances have resulted in the accumulation of substantial data, which has been used to develop the functional criteria, that must be recognized in design and development of equipment and associated facilities used for ammunition operations. Primary guidelines are found in the Army Materiel Development and Readiness Command Safety Manual (DARCOMR 385-100), Ammunition and Explosive Standards (TM 9-1300-206) and Occupational Safety and Health Act Standards, as well as other laws, rules and regulations. All of these criteria have been recognized and considered in the development of the Mobile Surveillance Inspection Shop. 

Again, hot work is that type of work that involves welding, grinding, cutting, and other flame- or potential spark-producing activity that might be performed in the vicinity of processes covered by the process safety management rule. The hot work permits provide for fire safety in conjunction with that type of work and typically include written authorizations and procedures for special controls and surveillance requirements. Most important is the coordination of maintenance and operations. 

The appendix to Subpart B of the Nuclear Safety Management rule specifies fhe fypes of safety limits, operating limits, surveillance requirements, and ACs that define fhe safefy envelope necessary to protect the health and safety of the public and workers. The TSR derivation chapter in the DSA is the key component that provides the basis for TSRs. 

Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCCs). The air traffic control system is divided into twenty-two ARTCCs that manage traffic within specific geographical areas. The ARTCCs are responsible for all traffic other than that controlled by the terminal radar approach control (TRAGON) and the control tower facilities. Primarily utilizing constant radar surveillance, the ARTCCs provide separation for aircraft operating in controlled airspace under instrument flight rules. 

The conditions which are not able to be tested during operation are tested during the pre-operational test. Under the safety rule by the individual utilities, maintenance standards of ESF, RPS and Emergency Cooling System have been established. In case that any non-conformity to the standard is recognized by a surveillance, the plant will be forced to shut down depending on its significance. 

One chapter deals with the design (construction) and one with the rules for the stress analysis for the RPVIs, which are primary derived from the ASME code. The rules for the RPVIs materials and material testing are covered in another chapter. The requirements for the materials are fixed in special material sheets in the annex. Further chapters contain requirements for the manufacturing and the operational surveillance and testing.
