In one study of long-term outcome of 33 nonsmoking FL dating back at least 6 years (Lalan-CETTE et al. 1993), pulmonary function tests revealed an obstructive profile in 13 subjects, restrictive changes in 1, an isolated decrease in lung diffusion capacity in 3, and normal values in 16. Thin-section CT revealed emphysema in 9 of the patients who had airflow obstruction. 

The subject of surface viscosity is a somewhat complicated one it has been reviewed by several groups [95,96], and here we restrict our discussion to its measurement via surface shear and scattering from capillary waves. 

The selection of the operating principle and the design of the calorimeter depends upon the nature of the process to be studied and on the experimental procedures required. The various chemical and physical processes that play a role ia the deterioration of art objects are not restricted to the present, even though the contemporary environment has contributed significantly to the rate of decay. Revered masterpieces have lost splendor throughout the ages. Indeed, from textual evidence, it is known how artists ia the Renaissance restored works of art from Classical times. These restorers of past centuries attempted to return the object to its original appearance. The fallacy of that idea Hes ia the fact that they could not know the exact original appearance of the work, ie, immediately after its creation therefore, they restored the object according to their subjective opinions. 

Hair Coloring Regulation Issues. In the United States the classification of color additives is complex. Under the Federal Food, Dmg and Cosmetic Act, all cosmetic colors must be the subject of an approved color additive petition to the Food and Dmg Administration there is an exception for coal-tar colorants used to color hair. Based on the composition of these colorants, FDA can require a certification on each manufactured batch of colorant to assure conformance with the approved specifications. In the early 1990s FDA has required certification only for synthetically derived coal-tar type colors. Many of the approved color additives, both certified and noncertified, are restricted ia their potential use. These restrictions can be found ia the color additive regulations ia the Code of Federal Regulations at 21 CFR 73 and 74. 

Glass offers good resistance to strong acid at high temperatures. However, it is subject to thermal shock and a gradual loss in integrity as materials such as iron and siUca are leached out into the acid. Nonmetallic materials such as PTFE, PVDC, PVDF, and furan can be used for nitric acid to a limited degree, but are mainly restricted to weak acid service at ambient to moderate temperatures.

This book provides an extensive exposition of experimental design at a relatively elementary level. It includes most of the standard material, as well as detailed discussions of such subjects as nested and spHt-plot experiments. Restrictions on randomization receive special emphasis.

Overview Reconciliation adjusts the measurements to close constraints subject to their uncertainty. The numerical methods for reconciliation are based on the restriction that the measurements are only subject to random errors. Since all measurements have some unknown bias, this restriction is violated. The resultant adjusted measurements propagate these biases. Since troubleshooting, model development, ana parameter estimation will ultimately be based on these adjusted measurements, the biases will be incorporated into the conclusions, models, and parameter estimates. This potentially leads to errors in operation, control, and design. 

Normally such mills are installed in groups known as wind farms to provide a sizeable power source, except in remote areas, where power demand may be restricted to a very limited area and small mills may suffice. When mills are installed in groups, precautions are necessary to ensure that there is enough distance between any two mills so that there is no hindrance to routine maintenance, on the one hand, and obstruction of wind to other mills, on the other.
