Storage of data

Averaging and storage of data for a Monte Carlo run are carried out in much the same way as for molecular dynamics (see p. 318-324). [Pg.99]

The CD-I (compact disk-interactive) is a low cost alternative to the CD-ROM for the entertainment industry. CD-I is a subset of the CD-ROM standard data format. It allows the digital storage of data, audio, and video information in a form that permits rapid interaction with a computer. CD-I is compatible to CD-ROM and to CD-AD 0 = 120 mm. The definition of the CD-I format is put down in the Green Book (Philips/Sony). [Pg.139]

Over the years, many instruments have been developed for and used in the scientific laboratory. Today, the computer is used as a major tool in the scientific laboratory for the capture, manipulation, transfer, and storage of data. Consequently, the concern for data quality has shifted from the instruments that are used in the generation of the data to these electronic systems, often neglecting the fact that the data are only as accurate as the instrument measurements. For instance, many electronic systems can be used in chromatography analysis, from the electronic log book where the test substance inventory is kept, throughout data capture in the instrument, to the digitized electronic signal that is the raw data on the computer network. For crop residue samples, the... [Pg.1039]

STL are accredited by the Department of Trade and Industry via the National Measurement Accreditation Scheme (NAMAS). This covers all aspects of laboratory operations, such as organization of the laboratory and methodology, equipment and staff training, quahty-control systems and storage of data. The company acquired the first accreditation in the UK for the analysis of organic compounds by GC-MS. It also operates appropriate procedures to conform with the Department of Health s Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) recommendations. [Pg.100]

The main interest in this book is the use of laser addressable dyes in optical data recording, specifically WORM (write once read many times) used in the industrial and institutional arena for the mass storage of data, and CD-R used in smaller scale computing, educational and entertainment outlets. [Pg.260]

The use of two-photon processes is also being extensively studied in the use of photochromies in 3D data storage (Chapter 1, section 1.2.8.3) and in the holographic storage of data, which is covered in Chapter 5 (section 5.4). [Pg.277]

All manufacturers offer computer software in various degrees of sophistication, most of which are at present in a state of development. The instruments are microprocessor controlled, provide differentiation, integration, disc storage of data and data analysis 6.4.1 Differential Thermal Analysis... [Pg.692]

System backup The storage of data and programs on a separate media, and stored separately from the originating system. [Pg.184]

These instruments are high precision, with state-of-the-art force and position measurement technology. Modem computer power enables the storage of data obtained during the test as well as its mathematical manipulation and presentation. Interpretative skills are required to obtain the best results from the techniques used. Comparison to results obtained in the field should always be made. [Pg.181]

A large part of XSLT processing power lies in its usage of powerful tools for searching and selection of information from XML documents. These tools makes XML a very useful instrument for persistent storage of data. [Pg.108]

The use of microprocessors for the control of the chromatograph components as well as for the acquisition and archival storage of data will be required for complex multicomponent analyses as well as to handle large numbers of samples and the large volumes of data generated. [Pg.40]

Our investigator noted that the laboratory is nsing an electronic record system for processing and storage of data from the XXXX and HPLC instmments that is not set up to control the secnrity and data integrity in that the system is not password controlled, there is no systematic backnp provision, and there is no audit trail of the system capabilities. The system does not appear to be designed and controlled in compliance with the reqnirements of 21 CFR Part 11, Electronic Records. [FDA Warning Letter, 2002]... [Pg.373]

Legacy systems are to be decommissioned in a controlled manner according to a system retirement plan, archiving and storaging of data and documentation. The following is typically produced for retirement ... [Pg.616]

Is the system used in the collection, analysis or storage of data from clinical trials ... [Pg.672]

A rapid data-storage and recovery system is needed. It can consist of magnetic tape, hard disk, floppy disk, or a combination of these media. This system can be used for programming, short-term storage of data, and archiving data. [Pg.171]
