Smoking dependence

Particulates coEected in foundry atmospheres have been found to contain compounds of 2inc, copper, lead, iron, aluminum, magnesium, and sEicon as weE as carbon and oEy material. The specific composition and concentration of any smoke depends on the composition of the material being melted and on the melting and pouring practice. 

The metal particles melt and bum as near spherical droplets as they are ejected at typical speeds of about 0.3 to 3 msAfter the titanium is consumed, rapidly cooling spheres and hollow spheres of oxide remain which either fall to the ground or drift away with the smoke, depending on their size.
