Short throughput times

The road to this point has been described in great detail. Reducing the expected waiting and service time (i.e. dwelling time) of inventory in your enterprise is the key to drastically lower inventory levels.

You should introduce an incentive system for all employees which honors quality, productivity, short throughput times and flexibility as well as all cost le-ductions they realize.

If we were able to provide the performance process - basically all business processes - on time precisely with the resources they require, all business processes would flow smoothly through the enterprise with short throughput times and on schedule.

What kind of primary demand information do you feed your ERP system How far in advance have you made sure that the necessary resources are available so that you can produce your customer orders and targeted goals on time - without pile ups - and with short throughput times.

Complete freedom from backlog and bottlenecks at all workplaces as well as guaranteeing the supply of all purchased parts is the first of only two basic requirements for complete schedule effectiveness, short throughput times, low capital tie-up, and the high productivity of your enterprise. 

For preparative or semipreparative-scale enantiomer separations, the enantiose-lectivity and column saturation capacity are the critical factors determining the throughput of pure enantiomer that can be achieved. The above-described MICSPs are stable, they can be reproducibly synthesized, and they exhibit high selectivities - all of which are attractive features for such applications. However, most MICSPs have only moderate saturation capacities, and isocratic elution leads to excessive peak tailing which precludes many preparative applications. Nevertheless, with the L-PA MICSP described above, mobile phases can be chosen leading to acceptable resolution, saturation capacities and relatively short elution times also in the isocratic mode (Fig. 6-6). 

Heat is transferred between the two reactors by circulating sand between the gasifier and combustor. Both reactors are of the riser type with a very short residence time. They allow for a high PVC waste throughput. The gasifiers have a reducing atmosphere, which prevents the formation of dioxins.

Mass spectrometry is the most preferred technique employed during high-throughput screening. It provides specificity based on its capability to monitor selected mass ions, sensitivity because it affords enhanced signal-to-noise ratio, and speed due to very short analysis times that allow analysis... 

Several successful attempts were done to transfer classical CEIA to a microchip-based format. This kind of miniaturization is a trend that can overcome the limitations of CE in high-throughput systems. On-chip CE offers both parallel analysis of samples and short separation times. Koutny et al. showed the use of an immunoassay on-chip (32). In this competitive approach fluorescein-labeled cortisol was used to detect unlabeled cortisol spiked to serum (Fig. 8). The system showed good reproducibility and robustness even in this problematic kind of sample matrix. Using serum cortisol standards calibration and quantification is possible in a working range of clinical interest. This example demonstrated that microchip electrophoretic systems are analytical devices suitable for immunological assays that can compete with common techniques.
