Short Reports

Most of the reported results are given as evidence for structures in solution of compounds whose crystal structures are known from X-ray data. Some of them are completed by and P NMR spectra. We will give only the NMR parameters of these compounds using the chemical formulae. For more structural details, the reader can refer to the original publications. Platinum chemical shifts are referred to S = 21.4 MHz. In [Pt2Fe(dppm)2(CO)4], 5( Pt) = + 790 for the platinum atom bound to one phosphorus atom, and (i95pt)=+497 for the platinum bound to two phosphorus atoms, V(i 5pt,i95pt)= 1730 Hz [100]. Other results are presented in Table 20. [Pg.345]

Many efforts have been made to solve these equations analytically, but so far they have all been unsuccessful, and little has been published regarding them. Some unsatisfactory work has been reported by Alexandrow (28). Very recently a short report of a paper read by Wilson before the Royal Society has appeared (29). It is probable, in view of the vigor with which it is being attacked, that the problem will be solved completely before very long. [Pg.37]

An overarching goal of the Committee on Assessment of Security Technologies for Transportation is to provide timely reports that meet TSA s priorities for defeating terrorist threats. The committee judged that this could best be done by issuing a series of short reports on chosen technological applications. In consultation with TSA, the committee selected four topics for review, of which this report is the second ... [Pg.19]

Socha P, Heim P, Koletzko B. 1996. Short report—hydrogen sulfide in parenteral amino-acid solutions. Clinical Nutrition 15 34-35. [Pg.201]

A runaway decomposition in a melting vessel associated with distillation of the crude product burst the vessel and led to a major fire. The short report does not include detailed circumstances. The decomposition was attributed to the catalytic effects of impurities. However, it seems that nitric acid was also present. [Pg.1199]

Coffee Break is a general healthcare site that takes a scientific view of the news and covers recent breakthroughs in biology that may one day assist physicians in developing treatments. Here you will find a collection of short reports on recent biological discoveries. [Pg.53]

Use reference books and the Internet to discover any useful applications of the compounds you made. Prepare a short report for your class, explaining how you think each compound s physical properties may affect its usefulness in real life. [Pg.49]

NiFe] hydrogenase of the purple-sulfur bacterium A. vinosum can exist in various redox states (see Fig. 7.5). Until recently the redox transitions have been studied under equilibrium conditions only. I will shortly report here on the first rapid reactions of H2 and CO with [NiFe] hydrogenases using the so-called rapid-mixing rapid-freezing technique. This technique enables the study of the reaction of an enzyme with its substrate and/or an inhibitor on a timescale down to 10 ms (milliseconds). The basic elements of... [Pg.145]

Primary Cell Status as Baseline. Some time ago a short report was made on the Symposium on Batteries for Traction (see (90)) on the studies in the Lockheed Research Laboratory on electric power sources based on reactions of alkali metals with water. These reactions produce very high ED s, are surprisingly efficient about 3000 Wh per kg of active metal (120). [Pg.283]

The publication of this book was made possible thanks to the contributions of numerous experts. Mostofthe Members ofthe lEA Hydrogen Co-ordination Croup (HCC) actively contributed providing basic information through questionnaires and short reports, as well as feedback and additions in the course ofthe work through several review and editing rounds. [Pg.5]

Scheele kept this promise, and on May 15th of the following year wrote Gahn as follows I now have the pleasure of giving you a short report of my experiments with molybdaena. Professor Bergman, Assessor Rinman, and B. Hermelin [Samuel Gustav Hermelin] all sent me some of it (52). [Pg.260]

Recommendations—tells what action should be taken based on the information you have presented. Some short reports and form reports do not have explicit recommendations. [Pg.191]

Based on your answer to number 3, design a new process of personal management. Write a short report detailing the design and its rationale. [Pg.54]

A few naturally occurring cyclazidines (this term is proposed for totally hydrogenated cyclazines, analogous to indolizidines , pyrrolizidines , etc.) have been described, some of which show interesting properties. A short report on this class of compound is given in Section 3.08.9.9. [Pg.478]

Biochem. Biophys. Res. Comm, and FEBS Letts, are dedicated to rapid publication of short reports but are also refereed. Other journals provide mostly reviews or a mixture of reviews. Periodical review series, such as Advances in Nucleic Acid Chemistry and Related Topics, often appear annually. Every student who intends to become a professional biochemist should consider purchasing the Annual Review of Biochemistry each year. This indispensible source of current information on most aspects of biochemistry is available to students at a very low price. [Pg.32]

A short report (K2) has appeared in which an automatic titrator has been used in a modified version of the Schales and Schales procedure (S2). In the modified method which employs 3 ml of a 1 10 blood filtrate, the standard mercuric nitrate in nitric acid is used as a titrant. The recovery values reported are sufficiently accurate for clinical use ... [Pg.320]

After a short report on the discovery of the quaternary borocarbide superconductors in Section 1.1, for comparison a limited survey of other superconductors based on boron and/or carbon will be presented in Section 1.2 whereas the interplay of superconductivity and magnetism in other materials is discussed in Section 1.3. At the end of this section some special features of the RNi2B2C compounds and review articles in this field can be found in Section 1.4 as well as the further outline of this chapter. [Pg.180]
