Shelter multiple

A fire-resistant building is located in the facility, 75 ft (23 m) from the nearest tank, and 25 ft (7.5 m) from the nearest edge of the dike wall. The building contains tank field monitoring and control equipment, provides shelter to the operators, and also houses administrative support activities. The building is equipped with multiple means of egress. 

Although not as effective as a thick layer of concrete, multiple layers of other materials (e.g., a roof and several floors) may also be effective shields. For example, fallout will land on the roof of a multiple-story building. The roof and floors will keep the fallout away from individuals seeking shelter in inner rooms or a basement. Additionally, the multiple layers of wood, steel, and concrete help reduce dose levels in the shelter. 

Where physical stream switching is acceptable, this arrangement allows for multiple sampling fast loops to feed a single near-infrared analyzer, with stream switching controlled by the analyzer. The analyzer will most likely need to be hazardous area comphant, but may be either located in a dedicated analyzer shelter, or may be field-mounted.

July 6, 2013, Lac-Megantic, Quebec. An unattended 74-car freight train carrying Bakken crude oil ran away and derailed in the downtown area of Lac-Magantic. Harbors are bnilt to provide a sheltered environment for the mooring of shipe and vessels. For some wave periods the semi-enclosed harbor basin acts as a resonator to amplify the wave motions in the harbor due to the combined effects of wave diffractions, refractions, and multiple reflections from the boundaries. This undesirable wave motion could induce significant ship motions, damage ship and dock facihties, and delay loading and imloading activities if the resonant wave periods are close to that of the ship mooring system. The name was immediately controversial—how could a building properly be called sick Moreover, the events sbs described were themselves strange in form—imperceptible chemical exposures combined with multiple symptoms. Could such events be proved real. Were offices, homes, schools, and mails—spaces previously understood as shelters from hazard—polluted ...
