The system was installed and certified by TUV and the local authorities. Trials conducted on site after installation proved that the system allowed efficient inspection with scan speeds in excess of 100 mm/s, which is faster than initially required. Implementation of the system has resulted in savings enabling pay back of the full system in less than one year. 

ACE inhibitors do not completely block aldosterone synthesis. Since this steroid hormone is a potent inducer of fibrosis in the heart, specific antagonists, such as spironolactone and eplerenone, have recently been very successfully used in clinical trials in addition to ACE inhibitors to treat congestive heart failure [5]. Formerly, these drugs have only been applied as potassium-saving diuretics in oedematous diseases, hypertension, and hypokalemia as well as in primary hyperaldosteronism. Possible side effects of aldosterone antagonists include hyperkalemia and, in case of spironolactone, which is less specific for the mineralocorticoid receptor than eplerenone, also antiandrogenic and progestational actions. 

Even on a relatively small subset of reused data, it is possible to license old medicines for new therapeutic applications and greatly reduce the costs of clinical development—many of these reused medicines have already passed muster for pharmacokinetic safety, so smaller-scale clinical trials are possible, saving considerable money (e.g., Arakis—soon to become Sosei). Even Sildenafil may have new indications [39]. There are huge potential reserves of information to mine in each and every large pharmaceutical company ... 

Most important, reliable and no-regrettable measures are two move to renewable energies and energy saving/conservation. The concept of renewable energy is shown in Fig. 2. Although atypical antipsychotic agents may cost several times as much as traditional antipsychotics, drug costs in schizophrenia account for only 1-4% of the total treatment cost (Knapp, 1997). The argument then is that a small increase in drug costs— say to 10% of total cost—may result in disproportionate savings in the highly expensive direct hospital costs, if clinical trial... 

Clinical trials are costly to conduct, and results are often critical to the commercial viability of a phytochemical product. Seemingly minor decisions, such as which measurement tool to use or a single entry criterion, can produce thousands of dollars in additional costs. Likewise, a great deal of time, effort and money can be saved by having experts review the study protocol to provide feedback regarding ways to improve efficiency, reduce subject burden and insure that the objectives are being met in the most scientifically sound and cost-effective manner possible. In particular, I recommend that an expert statistician is consulted regarding sample size and power and that the assumptions used in these calculations are reviewed carefully with one or more clinicians. It is not uncommon to see two studies with very similar objectives, which vary by two-fold in the number of subjects under study. Often this can be explained by differences in the assumptions employed in the sample size calculations. 

Since we have a minimization problem, significant computational savings can be realized by noting in the implementation of the LJ optimization procedure that for each trial parameter vector, we do not need to complete the summation in Equation 5.23. Once the LS Objective function exceeds the smallest value found up to that point (S ), a new trial parameter vector can be selected.

Oral nitrates play a limited role in ACS because clinical trials have failed to show a mortality benefit for IV followed by oral nitrate therapy in acute MI. Therefore, other life-saving therapy, such as ACE inhibitors and /T-blockers, should not be withheld.
