SAS users groups are user-based communities supported by SAS Institute that are organized by geographical or industrial areas. These users groups typically have annual meetings where you can go to leam and to network with fellow SAS programmers. [Pg.297]

Statistical Analysis. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) of toxicity data was conducted using SAS/STAT software (version 8.2 SAS Institute, Cary, NC). All toxicity data were transformed (square root, log, or rank) before ANOVA. Comparisons among multiple treatment means were made by Fisher s LSD procedure, and differences between individual treatments and controls were determined by one-tailed Dunnett s or Wilcoxon tests. Statements of statistical significance refer to a probability of type 1 error of 5% or less (p s 0.05). Median lethal concentrations (LCjq) were determined by the Trimmed Spearman-Karber method using TOXSTAT software (version 3.5 Lincoln Software Associates, Bisbee, AZ). [Pg.96]

The goal of the prioritization scheme is to design the scores so that the overall worst looking compounds are de-emphasized and the best looking compounds are moved toward the top of the list. Thus, it is important to ensure that the best and the worst compounds are clearly separated and that the vast bulk of the population is in the middle. The normal distribution is ideally suited for this and thus it is advantageous to transform our component scores into a normal-like distribution. Enterprise Miner from SAS Institute was used to do this as it has a maximize normality transformation built into it. [Pg.120]

Analysis of variance (ANOVA) analyses were performed using the general statistical package StatView 5.01 (SAS Institute, Cary, NC, USA). The ANOVAs were calculated as repeated-measures ANOVAs with wells as within factor for phase 1 and with plates as within factor for subsequent phases. Specialized statistics, such as comparison of fits of different calibration curves, were calculated in MATLAB 5.1 (MathWorks, Natick, MA, USA) using custom routines. [Pg.43]

The analysis of variance (ANOVA) gives information on the significant effects. Data were analyzed using the general linear model (GLM) procedure from the Statistical Analysis System (SAS Institute, Cary, NC). A discussion and explanation of the statistics involved are given by Davies [19]. [Pg.49]

Perform statistical analysis utilizing repeated measures ANOVA (JMP software, Version 5 from SAS Institute, Cary, NC) to evaluate the treatment effects on tumor growth. Compare tumor weight measurements between treatment groups utilizing one-way ANOVA. [Pg.249]

SAS Transport File Format. We are able to archive data sets in SAS XPORT transport format, also called version 5 SAS transport format. This is an open, published file format developed by SAS Institute. For additional information, see the SAS Institute s Standards for Electronic Submissions and SAS XPORT transport format Web site. [Pg.42]

Two sets of SSDs were created based on ICE extrapolations from ECOSAR fish values (assuming fish = fathead minnow) 1) all 27 predicted ICE species, excluding ECOSAR values and 2) the 27 ICE species plus ECOSAR hsh, daphnids, and algae. SSDs were created using a log-normal distribution (SAS Institute 2002). Figure 3.3 illustrates the SSDs for DCA and NP with and without ECOSAR species, and Figure 3.4 provides the distributions for PCP and LAS. The predicted hazard... [Pg.93]
