Safety performance prevention through

To ensure that the safety program is working, most companies have a safety policy follow-through. This includes monthly safety meetings, performance reviews, and safety audits. The monthly safety meetings include a discussion of any accidents (and resolution of prevention means), training on specific issues, inspection of facilities, and delegation of work. Performance reviews within the company for all employees must have a visible safety performance component. 

Safety, Loss Prevention and Security are the direct responsibility of line management and are important measures of managerial performance. In order to insure that every employee is prepared to work safely, every supervisor has the responsibility to provide a safe work environment with proper equipment and adequate training. Each supervisor also has the responsibility, through personal example and the involvement of all employees, to create a climate in which everyone shares concern for the safety and security of their fellow workers and for the prevention of losses. 

Cost-reduction projects are aimed at reducing the cost of production of an existing plant. The most common cost-reduction investments are for preventive maintenance, in which equipment is replaced, repaired, or cleaned after a planned interval and before the equipment deteriorates to the point where it could impact process performance or safety. Most preventive maintenance projects are small and are handled through the plant maintenance budget, but some can be very large, expensive projects requiring a major plant shutdown, for example, replacing the fired tubes in a main... 

The company will learn that reporting and investigating near misses will enhance overall business performance, particularly because the near misses of a safety incident or environmental release have the same root causes as incidents that detract from quality and productivity. Safety personnel can assist in defining an appropriate near-miss reporting culture. All managers intuitively understand the return on investment from preventing incidents. The effort pays for itself directly through improvements in productivity. 

Enterprise should strengthen safety check, correct employees unsafe behaviors promptly. Every employee performs his own functions and regards safety as his own problem, implements the measures and requirements consciously, solves problems existing in work initiatively, form safe habits through preventive management.
