A safety bulletin board will be located on each worksite/jobsite where it will be visible to all anployees. The bulletin board will contain information such as the following  

Safety and health committee meeting minutes Safety promotions/awards Safety meeting dates and times OSH A 300A form (February 1 to April 30 of each year) 

Available safety training Safety inspection findings Emergency phone numbers Any violation cited by OSHA It s the Law OSHA job safety and health poster 

Additional items may be posted with the management s approval.

Middle management must be actively involved in the safety program. Petersen feels that the middle manager has a three-fold role—to ensure subordinate supervisory performance, to ensure the quality of the performance, and to do some things himself that demonstrate active participation in the safety program by all levels of management.

Where do observers get observation checklists and how do they submit completed observations You will also need to plan the administrative aspects of supporting observations, as in where employees obtain blank observation checklists and, after the observations are completed, how they submit the checklists to the steering committee. As part of the data feedback process described in the next chapter, you may want to establish a safety bulletin board in each area. This board can display the blank checklist, and it is a good area in which to locate drop boxes for submitting completed observations. Results should be posted immediately upon completion, with action items noted on the form. Positive recognition should be listed first, indicating items that were noted during the review as safe and in compliance with company policy.
