Robertson test

Robertson tests have determined the strength and temperature for the translation of fragile failure to ductile failure [11]. [Pg.903]

The only experimental values of sufficient accuracy to permit a test of the predicted values are those obtained by Robertson in his careful and thorough x-ray investigations of the structure of... [Pg.207]

Trend tests seek to evaluate whether there is a monotonic tendency in response to a change in treatment. That is, the dose response direction is absolute as dose goes up, the incidence of tumors increases. Thus the test loses power rapidly in response to the occurrences of reversals , for example, a low-dose group with a decreased tumor incidence. There are methods (Dykstra and Robertson, 1983) which smooth the bumps of reversals in long data series. In toxicology, however, most data series are short (that is, there are only a few dose levels). [Pg.893]

Gases Liberated from Explosions Initiated by Impoct. It has been known for a long rime that in a true deton of HE, the major products are C02, CO, HaO, N and H, while in thermal decomposition of expls, more complicated mixtures of NOa, NO, NgO, C02, CO, H2, aldehydes etc, result. As it is of interest to know what kind of products are obtained when an expl is initiated by impact, Robertson and Yoffe (Ref 8) tested NG,... [Pg.663]

A portion of the solution was subjected to a qualitative electrical migration experiment using a three-component cell similar to that described by Hardwick and Robertson (79). The solution under investigation was placed in the center compartment, and in the outer compartments were placed sulfuric acid solutions of concentrations similar to that of the test solution. No diffusion occurred over a period of 24 hours. Application of about 50 volts d.c. across the electrodes caused migration of violet color to the cathode and no violet color to the anode. The results indicate a positively charged chromium species. [Pg.232]

Hepatic Effects. DNOC is a yellow compound that stains human (Hunter 1950) and animal (Ambrose 1942) skin on contact. Absorption of DNOC by any route and subsequent distribution to tissues results in a characteristic yellow staining of visceral organs and tissues including the conjunctiva and sclera of the eye (Ibrahim et al. 1934 Pollard and Filbee 1951), blood serum, skeletal tissue, and urine (Ambrose 1942). The yellow staining of the skin and sclera of patients exposed to DNOC prompted physicians to test for liver effects. Results for the index index and the Van den Bergh tests have been consistently negative (Dodds and Robertson 1933 Gordon and Wallfield 1935 Plotz 1936). [Pg.55]
