Risk management information dissemination

Improve the infrastructure for problem detection and product information dissemination, to strengthen consumer protection and take timely, effective risk management actions with all FDA-regulated products. [Pg.386]

AIChE created the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) in 1985 after the chemical disasters in Mexico City, Mexico, and Bhopal, India. The CCPS is chartered to develop and disseminate technical information for use in the prevention of major chemical accidents. The center is supported by more than 100 chemical process industry sponsors that provide the necessary funding and professional guidance to its technical committees. The major product of CCPS activities has been a series of guidelines to assist those implementing various elements of a process safety and risk management system. This book is part of that series. [Pg.24]

Disseminate information on environmental toxicology and chemistry, and participate in the application of these sciences to issues concerned with the technology of risk assessment and risk management. [Pg.2958]

The Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) was established in 1981 as a nonprofit organization to foster and promote (1) knowledge and understanding of risk analysis techniques and their applications (2) communication and interaction among individuals engaged in risk analysis (3) application of risk analysis and risk management techniques to the hazards and risks to which individuals and populations are exposed (4) dissemination of risk analysis information and concepts to all interested individuals (5) advancement of the state-of-the-art techniques in all aspects of risk analysis and (6) integration and interaction of the various disciplines involved in risk analysis. [Pg.2959]

Chemical exposures are not always private. But the ingredients for optimal private exposure also pertain to public exposure basic knowledge about the effects of exposure on healfh, dissemination of that knowledge, the transaction costs of becoming informed about numerous exposure risks, equity considerations, and struggles between emitters and emittees. This chapter does not repeat the discussions of Chapter 3 but discusses the additional considerations relevant to managing public exposures. [Pg.47]

A firm s CAPA system and processes should be designed to analyze and respond to quality issues in a systematic way that is commensurate with the risk. The system should provide for the verification or validation of corrective and preventive actions to assure their effectiveness and to assure that actions do not adversely affect the finished product. The system should also assure that pertinent CAPA information is appropriately disseminated throughout the organization as necessary to assure the effective operation of the quality system and for management review. [Pg.222]

In order for emerging methods to be acceptable for use in a regulatory context work is needed to validate them, and to develop QA/QC procedures for their use. There is also a need for dissemination of information on their performance and potential uses within the WFD. This is especially important since the type of information obtained with some tools is different from that provided by current practice. In some cases it may be appropriate to use a battery of tools in water quality management. In this case there is a need for a system to integrate the available information to provide a comprehendible set of data that can provide support for those responsible for risk analysis, and decision making in this area. [Pg.300]

The risk associated with decisions made and actions undertaken by a company not only pertains to the strategic and operational level and to financial aspects. It is also necessary to take the following issues into consideration compliance (regarding OHS, environmental aspect, information security or consumer protection) and knowledge management (development, protection, dissemination) (AIRMIC/ALARM/IRM 2002, p. 5). [Pg.93]
