Revenue stream

Introduction and Commercial Application The reservoir and well behaviour under dynamic conditions are key parameters in determining what fraction of the hydrocarbons initially in place will be produced to surface over the lifetime of the field, at what rates they will be produced, and which unwanted fluids such as water are also produced. This behaviour will therefore dictate the revenue stream which the development will generate through sales of the hydrocarbons. The reservoir and well performance are linked to the surface development plan, and cannot be considered in isolation different subsurface development plans will demand different surface facilities. The prediction of reservoir and well behaviour are therefore crucial components of field development planning, as well as playing a major role in reservoir management during production. [Pg.183]

The advent of a new class of materials systems based on nanoscale particles dispersed or suspended in carrier and/or binders has captured the attention of the microelectronics technical community. These materials provide the opportunity to use inexpensive solution processing equipment versus expensive vacuum deposition equipment commonly used in the microelectronics manufacturing industry. Experts in the microelectronics industry have suggested that over the course of the next live years, the industry will experience a paradigm shift in manufacturing and, more importantly, will enjoy revenue streams created from never-before-seen products based on printed electronics. [Pg.379]

Abandoning an NCE of high potential An understated projection of a compoxmd s commercial value may result in the discontinuation or out-licensing of a product whose revenue stream may turn out to be significant. In the pharmaceutical world, where the revenue streams from successful drugs must fxmd new development and cover the costs of failed compoxmds, failure to "ride out a winner" is a recipe for financial disaster. [Pg.626]

Typically, revenue streams from such divestitures come in two forms ... [Pg.654]

Additionally, the firms within the industry report R D expenditures as a current expense not a capital expense. Not amortizing the cost streams associated with R D means that profits are somewhat overstated by not having an ongoing cost stream to charge against the revenue stream that result from launching new products. [Pg.68]

Is there any possibility that the present vendor is keeping too close an eye on the revenue stream and not enough on the technical aspects ... [Pg.292]

If we start relying on small companies to produce advanced technologies, the industry will be hurting 10 or 15 years down the road. Small companies are very focused on the development end of technology and ensuring that they have a revenue stream. They don t have the resources to do research in broad areas. Companies need to have a balanced portfolio that includes a number of different avenues for doing fundamental research in and of itself fundamental research as it may apply to a technology, industry, and applications and applied research and advanced development activities. We need to have a balanced perspective of the research path. [Pg.34]

Acquiring products has a number of implications beyond those of taking a licence. When a company acquires a product it also acquires any and all liabilities already associated with that product. These liabilities may include past damages inflicted on patients, environmental impacts and contingent issues associated with third-party contracts. Conversely, the value represented in the acquisition of a product lies in obtaining the full value from its revenue streams and having full control of any development issues. [Pg.118]

Hydrogen production and PV electricity prices are presented in terms of levelized prices. Levelized price is the constant revenue stream that recovers all capital investments (equity and debt) at the required rates of return and covers annual O M expenses, insurance, property tax, and income taxes over the assigned capital recov-... [Pg.282]

The levelized price of a product is the constant revenue stream that recovers all capi tal investments and covers all variable and fixed costs and taxes over the investment period. Therefore, the levelized electricity and H2 prices presented in this study are derived by finding the electricity and H2 price that generates a net cash flow resulting in a zero net present value for the sum of discounted annual net cash flows over the investment period. The net present value formula is... [Pg.305]

A practice management system is the organizational framework that supports the practice. A practice management system represents an orderly approach to developing a system that enables practitioners to provide pharmaceutical care. A practice management system contains four elements (1) a clear description of the service provided, (2) a list of resources required to deliver the service, (3) a practice evaluation process, and (4) a revenue stream. [Pg.247]

In addition to investment costs, ongoing operational costs will divert your innovation s revenue stream. Use pro forma operations specs (Exhibit 11.4) to identify and estimate overhead costs. [Pg.70]

Rice oil, also called rice bran oil, has been used extensively in Asian countries such as Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Pakistan (1, 2). It is the preferred oil in Japan for its subtle flavor and odor. Interest in rice oil in the United States was initiated after WWll, primarily to provide an additional revenue stream to the rice miller. More recently, interest in rice oil escalated with its identihcation as a healthy oil that reduces serum cholesterol (3, 4). [Pg.1101]

As with all oils, coproducts of refining represent a significant revenue stream. Waxes may be concentrated and refined to compete with other organic waxes. The hard, high melting waxes are preferred for most applications. [Pg.1117]

An alternative method of comparing the magnitude of a capital investment in current dollars with a revenue stream in the future is to convert the capital cost into a future annual capital charge. [Pg.368]

Patents are clearly of great economic value to the patentee because the can be used to block competition, because they can be licensed out, thus producing a revenue stream even if the patentee... [Pg.630]
