Resolution of issues

To date, the Part II Programme has focused upon four major projects (1) The development and implementation of a set of Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP s) (2) Resolution of issues concerning Confidentiality of Data (3) Development of a Glossary of Key Terms and (4) Development of guidelines and other procedures for the exchange of information (e.g., re test data, the export of hazardous chemicals, and the labelling of hazardous chemicals). 

Doses should be selected that are reasonable multiples of the proposed therapeutic dose to be employed, especially since in many cases the amount of material available for testing may be limited and not available in Kg amounts. Preclinical rodent or primate studies should merely provide the flags to monitor during Phase I clinical trials. Reason should prevail, not only in the selection of methods and models for assessing the potential toxicity of the new agents, but also in the use of these data for extrapolation to humans. The Australian Pharmaceutical Advisory Council (APAC) provides the primary forum for the engagement of all stakeholders in discussion, debate and resolution of issues arising from the application of the National Medicines Policy, facilitating cooperation between stakeholders and addressing specific issues brought to it for deliberation. 

Field records document field measurements and field conditions at the time of sampling. These are permanent project records that are stored with the rest of the project files in a central location after the project is completed. A chemist, a geologist, or an engineer often reviews the field records to order to interpret the collected data in context of field conditions during sampling. Accurate and relevant field records allow efficient resolution of issues related to field and laboratory data interpretation and quality, whereas sketchy and inaccurate records raise more questions than they answer.

Again, check your relevant legislation, but generally, if an OHS issue cannot be resolved at the workplace, an inspector can be called in to make a decision. He/ she may issue a prohibition notice or an improvement notice (see Mechanisms for resolution of issues above) as part of the decision. 

Health and safety representatives will be required to consider a wide range of health and safety issues. In order to participate actively and positivefy in the resolution of issues, and to gain the confidence of other employees, the representatives will be required to undertake regular and detailed training courses. The health and safety representative has the potential to be a key element in an organization s health and safety strategy. 

The First Review Conference reaffirmed the importance of national implementation as an essential element of the implementation of the verification and other provisions of Article VI and Parts VI through IX of the Verification Annex. It addressed this issue in detail under agenda item 7(c)(v). The First Review Conference encouraged States Parties to share their experiences about the most effective ways to implement the Convention, and to cooperate in the resolution of issues they may encounter in the implementation of these provisions. The First Review Conference encouraged the Secretariat to continue providing technical assistance to States Parties, by mutual consent, in relation to the identification of declarable facilities, the submission of declarations under Article VI, the receipt of OPCW inspections and other technical questions that may arise in the implementation of the provisions related to activities not prohibited under the Convention. 

Tables VII and VIII contain a list of the chairmen of the Department and a list of the faculty respectively. The faculty members have been able over the years to maintain a friendly, tolerant and mutually respectful attitude toward one another. This attitude has allowed the department to achieve resolution of issues in a harmonious fashion and has helped make the duties of being chairman a relatively pleasant activity.
