Recent Synthetic Methods for Polyfluoro-aromatic Compounds Yakobson, G G, Vlasov, V M Synthesis 652-672 220... [Pg.13]

The syntheses and spectroscopic and electrochemical characterization of the rhodium and iridium porphyrin complexes (Por)IVI(R) and (Por)M(R)(L) have been summarized in three review articles. The classical syntheses involve Rh(Por)X with RLi or RMgBr, and [Rh(Por) with RX. In addition, reactions of the rhodium and iridium dimers have led to a wide variety of rhodium a-bonded complexes. For example, Rh(OEP)]2 reacts with benzyl bromide to give benzyl rhodium complexes, and with monosubstituted alkenes and alkynes to give a-alkyl and fT-vinyl products, respectively. More recent synthetic methods are summarized below. Although the development of iridium porphyrin chemistry has lagged behind that of rhodium, there have been few surprises and reactions of [IrfPorih and lr(Por)H parallel those of the rhodium congeners quite closely.Selected structural data for rr-bonded rhodium and iridium porphyrin complexes are collected in Table VI, and several examples are shown in Fig. 7. ... [Pg.295]

The second chapter Synthesis and Biological Activity of 2,5-Dihydro-1,2-Oxaphosphole-2-Oxide Derivatives deals with the recent synthetic methods, particularly those using phosphorylated allenes as the starting materials, of these compounds which show interesting biological properties. [Pg.9]

This chapter covers both traditional and more recent synthetic methods of preparing phosphors. It is important to note that as phosphors are used in all types of display, and are, therefore, an important part of a multibillion-dollar industry research and development is always ongoing to improve light output and, therefore, ease of viewing. The same is also true in the use of phosphors for lighting. [Pg.690]

Recently, synthetic methods for preparing 1,2-dioxins and their benzo- and dibenzofused derivatives <2004SOS(16)13> and 1,2-dithiins <2004SOS(16)39> have been reviewed. [Pg.679]

Dioxins, 1,4-oxathiins, 1,4-dithiins, and annulated derivatives have been reviewed in 1997 <1997HOU(9a)l> More recently, synthetic methods for preparing 1,4-dioxins and their benzo- and dibenzofused derivatives <2004808(16)15, 20048L2449>, 1,4-dithiins <2004SOS(16)57> and 1,4-oxathiins, and their annulated analogs... [Pg.859]

With respect to cost and ease of accessibility, the procedure described above is superior to other, more recent synthetic methods.8-12 However, the most convenient alternative synthesis of ethynylferrocene is that of Doisneau, et al.11 Some procedures11 12 also permit the synthesis of 1,1 -diethynylferrocene derivatives. Diethynylmetallocenes represent versatile precursors for the preparation of oligometallocenes. [Pg.268]

Since previous reviews sufficiently cover the developments in this field until the beginning of the 80s, the intention with the present review is to focus principally on the recent synthetic methods for the preparation of cyclic compounds, although general and basic reactions of less recent origin will also be mentioned. The chapter has been divided into two sections describing methodologies leading to the synthesis of carbo- and heterocycloadducts of different size. Finally, a brief section has been dedicated to the use of imines in cyclization reactions which occur via their enamine tautomer. [Pg.994]

We first present general criteria for the rational use of MSRs on the basis of fundamentals of chemical reaction engineering [21-24], The main characteristics of MSRs are discussed, and the potential gain in reactor performance relative to that of conventional chemical reactors is quantified (Section 2). Subsequently, the most important designs of fluid-solid and multiphase reaction systems are described and evaluated (Sections 3 and 4). Because microstructured multichannel reactors with catalytically active walls are by far the most extensively investigated MSRs for heterogeneous catalytic reactions, we present their principal design and recent synthetic methods separately in Section 5. [Pg.54]

The chemistry of modified nucleosides has been partly covered in a number of books and reviews [11-21], This chapter deals with recent synthetic methods used for the preparation of modified nucleosides which have been tested for anti-HIV activity or which, because of their structure, may be good candidates for testing. Aspects such as mechanism of action and structure-activity relationship, which may help the synthetic chemist to translate the existing biological activity data into new or modified, more potent and more selective compounds, are briefly commented. [Pg.322]
