Racks, description

An interesting description of a commercial tin-plate installation appears in a special issue of the Norelco Reporter Each side of the coated steel strip can be traversed continuously by a separate measuring head, and the results appear on a two-pen strip-chart recorder located near the 4 x 2 x 9-foot dual electronic rack that energizes and regulates the two measuring heads some 100 feet away.

The holder for the work piece or pieces consists essentially of a metal rack or jig, on which the articles can be held by means of clips or other such accessories it may be used stationary, or in more elaborate forms with rotary or planetary movement in such cases the drive is by means of an electric motor mounted externally on the chamber, with the shaft led into the chamber through a vacuum-tight seal. Planetary movement of the work holder in particular requires further description typically, the articles are clipped to individual cages (called planets ), which are attached to the main frame of the holder. The frame is driven and by means of gearing and inter-connecting drive chains the planets in turn can be made to rotate in a selected ratio to their speed of rotation (the usual ranges of ratios are from 5 1 to 10 1). 

Several small test tube racks should be made for the laboratory. These arc very simple to construct and no description should be necessary as the drawing (Fig. 13) gives all the necessary details.

This report describes all of the work undertaken as part of the CRP and includes a review of the state of the art understanding of corrosion of research reactor aluminium alloy cladding materials a description of the standard corrosion racks, experimental protocols, test procedures and water quality monitoring the specific contributions by each of nine participating laboratories a compilation of all experimental results obtained and the supervisory group s analysis and discussion of the results, along with conclusions and recommendations.

The spatial quality measures are related to assignment of spatial attributes to structural descriptions. Here, the designer is interested in layout shape and position of pins on the layout boundary for the purpose of floorplanning an IC, or the size of the boards, racks and cabinets for mechanical design of the system. 

The description of the system should include the locations (e.g. plant grid and elevation, room number or area number) of sensors, racks, cabinets, panels, operator controls and operator displays as well as of facilities for manual adjustment and system testing.
