Ashless antioxidants Lack of quality reliability claimed for passenger car engine oils in the United States led to the introduction of ILSAC GF-1 (API SH) for 1994 model year vehicles and the adoption of the American Chemistry Council Product Approval Code of Practice which addresses quality assurance issues. A similar system was adopted later in Europe. With the application of the ACC Code of Practice, the commonly used concentration of alkylated diphenylamine antioxidants in the oil was increased in order to pass Sequence HIE viscosity control requirements [106]. When the Sequence HIE, of 64 h test duration, was replaced by the Sequence IIIF, of 80 h duration, with ILSAC GF-3 (API SL) for 2001 model year vehicles, the trend to use higher concentrations of ashless antioxidants continued. 

Topical antimicrobial handwashes and hand sanitization are very important in the food service industry. Important, also, is gloving. This section covers only the tests that are essential on a completed motor, irrespective of the manufacturing procedure and stage quality checks. If ISO 9000 guidelines are assimilated, practised and enforced by a manufacturer so that a customer s trust is obtained, a final pre-despatch inspection by the customer may not be necessary. The customer, having gained confidence in the practices and Quality Assurance Systems of the manufacturer, may issue an authorization to the manufacturer to despatch the material under their own inspection certificate, rather than an inspection by the customer. We discuss below the test requirements procedure and the acceptance norms prescribed by various national and international standards for such machines and adopted by various manufacturers. 

You should consider obtaining internal and external quality assurance reviews of the study (to ferret out errors in modeling, data, etc.). Independent peer reviews of the QRA results can be helpful by presenting alternate viewpoints, and you should include outside experts (either consultants or personnel from another plant) on the QRA review panel. You should also set up a mechanism wherein disputes between QRA team members (e.g., technical arguments about safety issues) can be voiced and reconciled. All of these factors play an essential role in producing a defendable, high-quality QRA. Once the QRA is complete, you must formally document your response to the project team s final report and any recommendations it contains. 

The Pharmacopoeial Forum fulfills a vital role in promoting industry-wide communication between those involved with quality assurance, the development of standards and analytical methods. It contains an up to date list of official USP Reference Substances, with current and recently changed lot numbers. Reference Substances not yet available and those under development are also described. The publication acts as an international open forum in which scientists are invited to express their views, suggestions, ideas and comments regarding new drug standard development and revisions to existing monographs. Pharmacopoeial Forum is published, on a subscription basis, six times a year, back issues are available for USP website see Table 84. 

The integration of different forms of study information from various locations and sources is possible with electronic information. Both study management and quality assurance are addressing critical issues associated with this process. Study Directors must now keep track of more data and study reports than ever before. Quality assurance (QA) departments must have systems in place to audit electronic data. 

U.S. EPA has issued regulations and guidance primarily focusing on double liners and LCRSs.6 7 Several Federal Register notices and guidance documents have been published by U.S. EPA in this area.8-11 U.S. EPA also issued final regulations for double liners and for LDSs, including construction quality assurance (CQA) and response action plans.12-14...

The issue of anthelmintic use in poultry production is covered in Chapter 12 and quality assurance systems based on hazard analysis by critical control point (HACCP) systems are described in detail by van Elzakker et al. (2004) and in Chapters 22 and 23 and are therefore not addressed here. 

Several key issues have to be addressed in the downstream processing of biopharmaceuticals regardless of the expression system. The removal of host cell proteins and nucleic acids, as well as other product- or process-related or adventitious contaminants, is laid down in the regulations and will not differ between the individual expression hosts. The identity, activity and stability of the end product has to be demonstrated regardless of the production system. The need for pharmaceutical quality assurance, validation of processes, analytical methods and cleaning procedures are essentially the same.
