Propylparabens

Preservatives. Most products must contain preservatives to ensure that yeasts, molds, and bacteria do not thrive in them. These preservatives include alcohol, methylparaben, propylparaben, DMDM hydantoin, diazohdinyl urea, and imidazohdinyl urea. The parabens have limited solubiUty in water, eg, 0.25% for methylparaben and 0.05% for propylparaben (22). If these levels are exceeded in the formula, then the addition of solvents is needed to ensure clear, stable products. [Pg.453]

Technetium-99m mebrofenin is an iminodiacetic acid derivative used as a hepatobiliary agent. The kit is suppHed as a single vial containing lyopbilized mebrofenin. The reconstituted kit has 18-hour usage, owing to the preservative, propylparaben. [Pg.484]

Melt the stearyl alcohol and white petrolatum (steam bath) and warm to about 75°C. Heat the water to 75°C and add the sodium lauryl sulfate, propylene glycol, methylparaben, and propylparaben. Add the aqueous phase and stir until congealed. IV. Water-soluble ointment (polyethylene glycol ointment, USP 14) Polyethylene glycol 4000 (Carbowax 4000) 50%... [Pg.224]

Although this chapter is directed toward ophthalmic products, it is largely applicable to parenteral and even nonsterile products (solutions, emulsions, and suspensions). The choice of preservative is limited to only a few chemicals that have been found, over the years, to be safe and effective for this purpose. These are benzalkonium chloride, thimerosal, methyl- and propylparaben, phenylethanol, chlorhexidine,... [Pg.432]

H3PO4 / 40 % acetonitrile at a flow rate of 1 mL/min. was used, and UV detection at 210 nm was used. The method was used for the separation of benzoic acid, methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, saccharin, sorbic acids, and /7-hydroxybenzoic acid. [Pg.36]

Charge 40% of the propylene glycol to an appropriately sized stainless steel and add methylparaben and propylparaben with mixing, and mix until dissolved. [Pg.61]

Epivir oral solution is for oral administration. One milliliter (1 mL) of Epivir oral solution contains 10 mg lamivudine (10 mg/mL) in an aqueous solution and the inactive ingredients artificial strawberry and banana flavors, citric acid (anhydrous), methylparaben, propylene glycol, propylparaben, sodium citrate (dihydrate), and sucrose. [Pg.141]

Each 10-mL spray bottle contains 100 mg nicotine (10 mg/mL) in an inactive vehicle containing disodium phosphate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate, citric acid, methylparaben, propylparaben, edetate disodium, sodium chlo-... [Pg.159]

The powder for oral solution contains the following inactive ingredients methylparaben, propylparaben, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, sucrose, and antifoaming and flavoring agents. [Pg.190]

Each gram of Plexion (sodium... [Pg.191]

Separately add and dissolve the following ingredients in alcohol methylparaben, propylparaben, and anise oil. [Pg.193]

Add the methylparaben and propylparaben. Rinse the containers with some of the remaining water if necessary. Stir until dissolved, maintaining temperature at about 80°C. [Pg.204]

Ingredients for the 250 mg capsules are com oil, FD C yellow no. 6, gelatin, glycerin, iron oxide, methylparaben, propylparaben, and titanium dioxide. [Pg.205]
