Promotion/information definition

This is the name of what we used to know simply as the data sheet, or colloquially as the package insert. The SPC is the document that must be submitted in draft by companies to the MHRA/Reference Member State/European Medicines Evaluation Agency upon application for a marketing authorisation and, once approved, must then be provided to prescribers or suppliers of medicines, either with the product or at the time of promotion or within the previous 15 months of promotion of the product, written or verbal. The SPC includes the prescribing information for the product and represents the product licence approval for the medicine (see Section 12.2.1.1). It is striking that only silver has been found to be a good catalyst. Why is silver unique The mechanism described here may provide an answer. The key factor might be that silver can dissociate O2, but the oxygen atoms are so weakly chemisorbed that epoxidation is possible. Moreover, silver only weakly activates the C-H bonds in ethylene. Definitive answers on the potential and the explanation of promoters and modifiers are waiting for more information. 

The consumer of chemicals or of chemically derived products has been confronted during the past 15 years with an ever increasing number of materials which are presented for his attention. The advertising and promotion of these chemical products are, on the whole, conservative. Nevertheless, the chemical consumer is bound to feel bewildered by all the claims made for various competitive materials. It is only natural that he should attempt to secure some definite information concerning new raw materials before he undertakes to work with them. The same holds true with regard to equipment used with these materials. 

There are very few examples of Lewis base-promoted allylations of aldehydes with allylstannanes. In 1992 Baba disclosed an intriguing method for allylation of aldehydes with allyl- and 2-butenyltributylstannanes in the presence of catalytic-amounts of dibutyltin dichloride and certain coactivators such as tetrabutylammo-nium iodide, tributylphosphine oxide, HMPA or tetraphenylphosphonium iodide [76]. No definitive mechanistic information is available on the role of the co-activators the authors speculate that the ligands accelerate the metathesis to form allyldibutyltin chloride which is the actual nucleophile. The same group has recently reported the use of a lead(II) iodide/HMPA catalyst for the allylation of a,yff-epoxyketones [76bj. 

There is now a new version of PromoterScan available, PromoterScan 2.0. This new version is supposed to provide more information from inside the black box which a promoter used to be for version 1.0 and is also able to compare a predicted promoter to EPD promoter sequences on the basis of the pattern of TF sites. Although this moves promoter comparisons with PromoterScan 2.0 effectively closer to the specific recognition of individual elements this approach is not used for the initial promoter prediction. PromoterScan is available via WWW, which is a definitive advantage for occasional promoter testing. 

Fenugreek was listed as one of nearly 300 reported antifertility plants identified in a review of the Ayurvedic literature (Casey 1960). Abortifacient activity was attributed to fenugreek, although reviewers of the research have noted that the definition of abortifacient was broad and included emmenagogues, ecbolics (uterine contractors), and "antimetabolites" (Mills and Bone 2005). A survey of plants used to promote abortion in northeastern India indicated that fenugreek seed was one of 14 plants commonly used no information on efficacy was reported (Nath et al. 1997). Antifertility activity was observed in rats administered a petroleum extract of fenugreek at doses of 0.5 to 1.25 g/kg daily for days 1 to 10 of pregnancy (Adhikary et al. 1990). 

This definition did nothing to classify the various types available, and only through extensive promotion and advertising was the public informed of the wide differences in properties and performance of the many viscose-derived fibers that were all called rayon. 

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, depoliticization in formal and informal promotion and tenure requirements needs to be addressed. While quality teaching is usually considered important for promotion and tenure in the abstract, efforts put toward curricular innovations that integrate socio-cultural contexts into the teaching of engineering problem definition and problem solving is often considered extra and may not count as promotion-worthy activities (Lattuca et al. 2006).
