Projects and Associated Resources

In addition to the large-scale mapping data repositories outlined in the previous section, many invaluable and more focused resources also exist. Some of these are either not appropriate for storage at one of the larger-scale repositories or have never been deposited in them. These are often linked to specific mapping projects that primarily use only one or a few different types of markers or mapping approaches. [Pg.127]

Linkage mapping is also an important tool in experimental aiumals, with many maps already produced at high resolution and others still imder development (see Mapping Projects and Associated Resources, below). [Pg.116]

Site Remediation Scope and Cost Projections. The selected remedial action must serve to address all primary and secondary risk drivers associated with the site. To characterize appropriate response actions and associated resource needs, site-specific measures (e.g., site investigation, remedy selection, implementation, etc.) must be defined to address all identified site risks. Based on this work scope, a life-cycle cash flow projection can be established for each site, addressing each phase of the site remediation effort through site closure. Periodic updates of the project... [Pg.223]

Full drug development involves management of the whole project from early proof of concept to post-launch activities. The very large financial and human resource costs associated with scale up of a development project from early phase work through to Phase 111 and launch in major markets require that the risks associated with the investment are managed appropriately. [Pg.310]

Leadership s role in the process improvement proposal is to understand the issue or opportunity, understand associated risk(s), and approve or redirect a proposed action or project and provide appropriate funding and or resources. As action items and proposals are approved and initiated, the progress should be monitored on a routine basis to ensure appropriate progress is made. [Pg.282]

So how could risk categorisation ever work in such a sea of subjectivity We need to go back to the primary reasons for undertaking a CRM analysis. In any CRM project the reality is that risk reduction activities require resources and those resources are finite. If risk reduction activities are spread evenly across a system some areas, perhaps associated with significant risk, will fail to get due attention. Similarly, less risky areas will be the subject of undue focus. Much of CRM is about prioritisation, reducing the risk in those parts of the systan that are known to be the greatest contributors. If one compares one hazard with another, i.e. the ratio of two clinical risks, any units of measure or other factors are cancelled out in the analysis rendering any absolute measures redundant. [Pg.34]
