Program flow

The postassembly phase redresses distortions inadvertently introduced during assembly. In neatening a structure with existing coordinates, most important is rotation and translation of the fragment back to its approximate starting orientation. Depending on the implementation, various graphical annotations may also need to be translated to stay close to their associated atoms or bonds. [Pg.328]

Laboratory applications of the computer, as evidenced by this symposium, are concentrating more on the result, and less on the hardware required to accomplish that result. A few years ago, a symposium of this type would have concentrated on the automated collection and analysis of data from laboratory instrumentation. Each paper would read like a chapter from "Tom Swift and His Electric Lab Whiz" and would dwell on the details of circuit diagrams and program flow charts. These papers were presented by... [Pg.3]

Software to predict the properties of formulated products is made more powerful by a recursive procedure which can use formulas stored in files as raw materials. Particular care must be taken with program flow control and data structures for the recursion to be effective. This paper illustrates these issues using an example derived from a working formulation system for coatings development. [Pg.54]

TestExpression is evaluated and used to direct program flow to the appropriate Case. ExpressionListN can be a single value, a list of values separated by commas or a range of values. The optional Case Else statement is executed if TestExpression doesn t match any of the values in any of ExpressionListN. [Pg.266]

Retention behaviour in GCxGC is more complex and also far less intuitive. A very helpful paper from Ong et al. [16], on the influence of chromatographic conditions in GCxGC, describes the effects on D and D retention of temperature program, flow rate, stationary phase, and D column length. In many cases, these effects are difficult to estimate even in a qualitative way. For example, an increase in flow rate will result in a lower retention time on the D column and also in a lower D elution temperature (Te), which is also the run temperature for the D column. The resulting combination in D column of higher flow rates and lower elution temperatures could result in an increase or in a decrease of the D retention, and it is impossible to decide intuitively between the two possibilities. [Pg.57]

The axis controller carries out the task of driving the robot axes according to the reference variables. The sequential progression from one axis position to the next is monitored and readjusted comparatively to the actual positions. An apphance (teach pendent) allows the robot to be operated and programmed by hand. The operator can easily access till control functions in order to run the robot in manual mode or determine the program flow. [Pg.376]
