Production cost per unit

The total product cost per unit of time may be divided into the two classifications of operating costs and organization costs. Operating costs depend on the rate of production and include expenses for direct labor, raw materials, power, heat, supplies and similar items which are a function of the amount of material produced. Organization costs are due to expenses for directive personnel, physical equipment, and other services or facilities which must be maintained irrespective of the amount of material produced. Organization costs are independent of the rate of production. [Pg.350]

A high solvent ratio on the other hand increases the amount of extract and throughput of solid material, thus decreasing production cost per unit quantity of product. Since gas extraction is a process with high monetary costs, this effect in general is dominant, but there may be limitations, if cycling the solvent is costly. [Pg.523]

However, the quantity of cane delivery in each period affects many stakeholders. During the first press, there is lack of labor for farmers to harvest canes as this period of time overlaps with the time to harvest other plants. Even though there were ready-to-deliver canes for the factory, the farmers could not cut canes and send to the factory because they did not have laborers to harvest canes. The result was that the quantity of input canes was less than the manufacturing capacity, and this led to an increasing production cost per unit. In the middle of the press. [Pg.392]

Production cost per unit measures the average cost to produce a unit of output. These costs may be measured per unit, per case, or per pound, depending on the product. [Pg.49]

Sleekfon has three production facilities in Europe (EU), North America, and South America. Sturdyfon also has three production facihties in Europe (EU), North America, and the rest of Asia/Australia. The capacity (in millions of units), annual fixed cost (in miUions of ), and variable production costs ( per unit) for each plant are as shown in Table 5-10. [Pg.135]

Everyone in our company wiU benefit from safety training through fewer workplace injuries, reduced stress, and higher morale. Productivity, profits, and competitiveness wiU increase as production costs per unit, turnover, and workers compensation rates lower. [Pg.324]
