Product push

When mature concrete is contaminated by chloride, e.g. by contact with deicing salts, the cement chemistry is more complex, and less chloride is taken up by the cement hydrate minerals and a larger proportion is free in the pore solutions and can therefore pose a greater hazard. When embedded steel corrodes, the production of a more voluminous corrosion product pushes the concrete from the steel with resultant cracking and spalling of the concrete. 

Equilibrium % S02 oxidized increases slightly with increasing volume% 02 in feed gas. This is because a high volume% 02 volume% S02 product pushes S02 oxidation to the right, Eqn. 10.7.

A review of silvicultural systems for Picea sitchensis in the UK (Macdonald and Hubert, 2002) provides further examples of product push with low valued pallets, packaging and fencing absorbing two-thirds of production - and Sitka spmee is classified as non-durable and resistant to treatment. 

SRI s 1998 report said that the upswing in demand for hydrogen was not limited to the United States. Europe also saw an increase in demand, much of it attributable to environmental regulations. Latin America also saw increased demand for the processing of heavy crude oil. In Asia, increases in the overall demand for refinery products pushed sales and production of hydrogen—at least, before the economic crunch of the late 1990s.

For this purpose, a simplified scheme [2] presented in Fig. 5.1 is used. The smooth tube 1 with the igniter 2 at its closed end is illustrated in Fig. 5.1a. The primarily smooth combustion front 3 propagates through the tube, where the initial combustible mixture 4 is transformed into combustion products 5. The expanding combustion products push the unburned gas 6 with a velocity profile distributed across the tube cross-section. There exists a link between developed and rural areas for biofuels production. Large-scale biofuels activities in developed countries may reduce the export of food products, pushing the prices of these goods up. This would in turn positively affect mral areas in developing countries benefitting of higher net surpluses in food... 

Surrounded by the inner root sheath, the fiber cells multiply and the constant stream of cell production pushes the fiber cells upward toward the skin surface. As the fiber cells move up the hair folhcle, they begin to differentiate into particular cell types cuticle and cortex. In addition to cuticle and cortex cells, the folhcle also produces a central strand of cells that are loosely organized, forming the medulla in the center of the hair fiber. Eventually, the tip of the fiber penetrates the superficial layers of the epidermis and the mature fiber emerges from the skin surface. In the mature fiber, cells are keratinized and hardened. 

The problem was that when the washers and the nuts corroded, the corrosion products pushed the nut away from the bolt, and if the corrosion was sufficiently severe, the nut could separate from the bolt.
