PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT

External communications quarterly and annual reports, press releases, new product announcements, existing product information and updates, customer newsletters, community newsletters, etc. [Pg.29]

Given the evolving stale of clarifiers for PP It Is sometimes dff-licult to see past the hype of each new product announcement to determine If a new agent really would be appropriate, useful, or cost-effective. Product developers typically consider several kinds of property comparisons, some of which are more relevant to one application than to others. Below Is a compendium of the properties and tests the literature emphasizes as most Important for making clarifler/nucleator comparisons ... [Pg.168]

Cyanoacrylate technology has been available since the early 1960s and is extensively used by both industry and consumer alike. Considerable advancements in this technology have been made over the years and new grades and versions are not uncommon in the New Product announcements in the Technical Press. [Pg.1]

Communication Update or communicate some sort of information, like a newsletter or product announcement. [Pg.292]

Of all the technologies currently used in security management, radio frequency identification (RFID) has received the most attention and needs to be discussed separately. RFID uses memory chips equipped with tiny radio anteimas that can be attached to objects that transmit streams of data about the object. For example, RFID can be used to identity any product movement, reveal a missing product s location, or have a shipment of products announce their arrival. Empty store shelves can signal that it is time for replenishment using RFID, or low inventories can inform the suppliers that it is time to stock more products. In fact, RFID has the potential to become the backbone of an infrastmcture that can identify and track billions of individual objects all over the world. [Pg.322]

For example, olefin sulfuri2ation products (Lubrizol, 1980), dithiophosphomolybdates (Mobil, 1980), or more simply the dithiophosphates of alcohol (Shell, 1980) whose anti-oxidant properties have been announced, are used in oil formulations for their anti-wear properties. [Pg.363]

The production of the first pound of 99% pure scandium metal was announced in 1960. [Pg.49]

It was not until the twentieth century that furfural became important commercially. The Quaker Oats Company, in the process of looking for new and better uses for oat hulls found that acid hydrolysis resulted in the formation of furfural, and was able to develop an economical process for isolation and purification. In 1922 Quaker announced the availability of several tons per month. The first large-scale appHcation was as a solvent for the purification of wood rosin. Since then, a number of furfural plants have been built world-wide for the production of furfural and downstream products. Some plants produce as Httie as a few metric tons per year, the larger ones manufacture in excess of 20,000 metric tons. [Pg.75]

In 1987, Toray Industries, Inc., announced the development of a new process for making aromatic nitriles which reportedly halved the production cost, reduced waste treatment requirements, and reduced production time by more than two-thirds, compared with the vapor-phase process used by most producers. The process iavolves the reaction of ben2oic acid (or substituted ben2oic acid) with urea at 220—240°C ia the presence of a metallic catalyst (78). [Pg.225]

Hybrid Crystallization/Adsorption Process. In 1994, IFP and Chevron announced the development of a hybrid process that reportedly combines the best features of adsorption and crystallization (59,99). In this option of the Eluxyl process, the adsorbent bed is used to initially produce PX of 90—95% purity. The PX product from the adsorption section is then further purified in a small single-stage crystallizer and the filtrate is recycled back to the adsorption section. It is reported that ultrahigh (99.9+%) purity PX can be produced easily and economically with this scheme for both retrofits of existing crystallization units as well as grass-roots units. A demonstration plant was built at Chevron s Pascagoula refinery in 1994. [Pg.420]

Synthetic Diamond. In 1955 the General Electric Company announced the successful production of diamonds (see Carbon, diamond, synthetic) from graphite under very high pressure and temperature ia the presence of a metal catalyst. It was later reported that a Swedish company, Allmana Svenska Electriska AB (ASEA), had succeeded ia ptoduciag diamond ia 1953 (35). [Pg.12]

TDF Drum Filter. This is a fairly conventional dmm filter housed in a vertical pressure vessel. Test data, obtained with the smallest model of only 0.75 m filtration area, is available (18). Larger models have also been announced, ranging up to the filtration area of 46 m and very large vessels. The operating pressures are moderate, up to 25 or 35 kPa, and the dmm speeds fairly conventional from 0.3 to 1.5 rpm. The range of dry cake production quoted is from 250 to 650 kg/m h for fine coal. [Pg.407]

In the United States, additional ramifications maybe expected from FDA s announcement of final regulations for new food labeling requirements under the directive of the Nutrition Labeling and Education Act of 1990 (2). Among other things, these regulations limit health claims that can be made on food labels. They also require new information on nutrient content, and limit the use of descriptors such as low and free in association with calories, fat levels, and other food product characteristics. [Pg.436]

Indium prices vary by purity level according to the number of mines. For 99.97 or 99.99% pure indium Meta/Bu//etm magazine s free-market prices ranged from 160 to 190/kg in 1993. Prices have trended downward since 1988. This, coupled with the fact that consumption increased during this period, is evidence that supply is ahead of demand. The most notable production increases have occurred at Indium Corp. of America, Nippon Mining Co. Ltd., Cominco Ltd., and Metaleurop S.A. The largest increase was made by Indium Corp. A 30-t increase was announced in 1988 in 1993 Indium Corp. announced plans to increase production by another 30 t to be phased in with demand, bringing the company s actual and planned increases to 60 metric tons over the 1988 level. [Pg.80]

Estimated world production capacity for elemental phosphoms is shown in Table 5 (6). Three elemental phosphoms production sites remain operational in North America (14), although Rhc ne Poulenc has announced its intention to cease production in late 1995. The remaining plants have survived owing to the availabiUty of economical electric power in the Northwest and proximity to phosphate ore deposits, resulting in lower cost phosphoms. The capacity of these producers in 1995 was estimated to be 264,000 metric tons. U.S. production capacity peaked at approximately 622,000 metric tons in 1970. [Pg.353]

Companies in the United States, Japan, and Europe are actively working to commercialize CdTe PV technology. CdTe PV modules are available in limited quantities and sizes from one Japanese manufacturer, and two U.S. companies (Golden Photon in Colorado and Solar Cells Inc. in Ohio) have announced their intention to market CdTe PV products in the near future. [Pg.472]

In 1991, Alusuisse Italia announced the constmction of a 20 x 10 t/yi" trimellitic anhydride unit at Bergamo, Italy (109) and commenced production in late 1994. A European patent appHcation (110) assigned to Alusuisse suggests that the process used is very similar to that of Amoco, that is, pseudocumene is air oxidized in the Hquid phase using heavy-metal catalysts and bromine. A number of other companies have shown interest in the production of trimellitic anhydride (111—113). [Pg.497]

Future Developments. The most recent advance in detergent alkylation is the development of a soHd catalyst system. UOP and Compania Espanola de Petroleos SA (CEPSA) have disclosed the joint development of a fixed-bed heterogeneous aromatic alkylation catalyst system for the production of LAB. Petresa, a subsidiary of CEPSA, has announced plans for the constmction of a 75,000 t/yr LAB plant in Quebec, Canada, that will use the UOP / -paraffin dehydrogenation process and the new fixed-bed alkylation process (85). [Pg.52]

Table 4 gives information on significant uses and Table 5 provides manufactuting data on various alkylamiaes for 1988, from capacity announcements ia Chemical Week, Hydrocarbon Processing, and European ChemicalNem. Table 6 gives general sales specifications and the U.S. Hst price (1991). More detaHed product Specifications are avaHable from the various iadicated manufacturers. [Pg.201]
