Print developers composition

The composition of the print developer affects the image tone of the paper. [Pg.71]

Uses. Cinnamyl alcohol and its esters, especially cinnamyl acetate, are widely employed in perfumery because of their excellent sensory and fixative properties. They are frequently used in blossom compositions such as lilac, jasmine, lily of the valley, hyacinth, and gardenia to impart balsamic and oriental notes to the fragrance. In addition, they ate utilized as modifiers in berry, nut, and spice flavor systems. The value of cinnamyl alcohol has also been mentioned in a variety of appHcations which include the production of photosensitive polymers (49), the creation of inks for multicolor printing (50), the formulation of animal repellent compositions (51), and the development of effective insect attractants (52). [Pg.176]

Typical of the temporary or manufacturing aid coating systems is the RISTON dry film photoresist for printed circuit (PC) board fabrication. This was the first of these systems developed. The RISTON product stmcture and the basic steps in its use are shown in Figure 2. It consists of a photopolymer sheet laminated between a Mylar cover sheet and a polyolefin separation sheet. It is manufactured as a continuous web (see Coating PROCESSES, survey), and is suppHed in roUs of varying width and photopolymer composition. [Pg.123]

Epoxide resins reinforced with carbon and Aramid fibres have been used in small boats, where it is claimed that products of equal stiffness and more useable space may be produced with a 40% saving in weight over traditional polyester/ glass fibre composites. Aramid fibre-reinforced epoxide resins have been developed in the United States to replace steel helmets for military purposes. Printed circuit board bases also provide a substantial outlet for epoxide resins. One recent survey indicates that over one-quarter of epoxide resin production in Western Europe is used for this application. The laminates also find some use in chermical engineering plant and in tooling. [Pg.773]

The workhorse of the VLSI industry today is a composite novolac-diazonaphthoquinone photoresist that evolved from similar materials developed for the manufacture of photoplates used in the printing industry in the early 1900 s (23). The novolac matrix resin is a condensation polymer of a substituted phenol and formaldehyde that is rendered insoluble in aqueous base through addition of 10-20 wt% of a diazonaphthoquinone photoactive dissolution inhibitor (PAC). Upon irradiation, the PAC undergoes a Wolff rearrangement followed by hydrolysis to afford a base-soluble indene carboxylic acid. This reaction renders the exposed regions of the composite films soluble in aqueous base, and allows image formation. A schematic representation of the chemistry of this solution inhibition resist is shown in Figure 6. [Pg.140]

BISMALEIMIDE POLYMERS. These relatively new polymeric materials were developed to serve the increasing requirements for materials of high strength in high-temperature applications. Currently, a high percentage of the bismaleimides produced are used for printed circuit boards (PCBs). The materials usually are cured with aromatic amines and then compression molded into the PCBs. Future uses include aircraft structural components where bismaleimides may prove superior for high-temperature skin surface applications as compared with present epoxy composites. [Pg.237]

Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. developed a water-based ink composed of photo-chromic-containing capsules and an aqueous polymer binder.46 The average particle size of the capsules containing photochromic spirooxazine and antioxidant was 20 pm. By using this ink composition, cotton clothes could be screen printed. The printed part showed coloration within 10 s when exposed to sunlight and exhibited good fatigue resistance. Furthermore, it bleached within 15 s in the dark, and this process was observed repeatedly. [Pg.103]
